Draft. Poured a hazy golden color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate citrus, floral and yeast aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate duration. My expectation where exceeded.

b3shine (5737) - Indiana, USA - AUG 16, 2012
Draft to taster at Brewery Vivant. Looks solid; a slightly cloudy light-gold with white lacing. Smells solid; wood and a slight blend of citrus and funk. Tastes similar, although very oak-forward without the funk. Average on the palate with a dry finish. Solid.

   AROMA 7/10   APPEARANCE 3/5   TASTE 6/10   PALATE 4/5   OVERALL 13/20
deyholla (6861) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - AUG 12, 2012
Sampled from the tap at the 15th annual MBGSF. Pours a hazy pale yellowish gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma kind of has a light passion fruit or guava note with some earthy grain and a good amount of oak as well as a hint of funk. Flavor has some light fruits with light grain and oak as well as an earthy/funkynote. Slightly muddled.

   AROMA 5/10   APPEARANCE 2/5   TASTE 5/10   PALATE 2/5   OVERALL 11/20
Silphium (3178) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - AUG 2, 2012
Draft at the brewpub. Cloudy pisswater body, thin off-white ring of carbonation. Tangy, thin body with grain and buttery oak. Some green apple and vinegar in the nose and body. The subtleties of the base beer are pointlessly buried in oak and age. Not pleasant.
