I enjoyed this for a good drinking beer at a party. Went well with tacos and Mexican food. Medium to dark brown color. Light tangy yeast flavors with some caramel and light fruit.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Dark brown pour with light brown/red hue. Offwhite thin layer of head. Aroma was creamy, sour raspberry. Low carbonation and oily mouthfeel. Malty and salty sour taste. Finish was a little dry, sour and floral overall.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
I like the black and purple pint can, but the rest isn’t as good as the can Thick and creamy malty beer with notes of chocolate, Munich malt and a little raisin. It has a weird vegetable note. The Belgian yeast esters are too subtle. Drinks like a middle of the road stout with a little bit of tangyness. Not bad, but not something I would buy again.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Not a whole lot of complexity going on here. It has some good malt sweetness, but kind of lacks depth. Easy drinking, and another quality Michigan brew, yet just falls short.

16 oz can. A very fruity Belgian, with an interesting funk. Doesn’t quite come together though. Pours ruby brown, with a creamy, wispy head, and is mostly translucent. Aroma is of pear, apricots, spicy pear, caramel, and off-bread. Palate is decently bitter and spicy, with a mixed fruit sweetness. Apples, pears, berry and prominent funky cherry. Yeasty bread. Caramel, dark malts. Some decent things going on here, but not the best as a whole.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
16oz can from Binny’s Naperville. Pours a deep brown-amber colored body with a finger-width, dense, frothy and creamy, tan head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is grainy, raisiny, sweet caramel and molasses with some biscuit, fruity Belgian yeast, and light spices. Flavor is similar. Sweeter, deeper caramels and molasses with lots of raisins, prunes, Belgian yeast, touches of roast, grains, and a few spices. Finishes sweet, lightly spicy and yeasty, rich malty, and ripe fruity before leaving a fairly lengthy aftertaste. Medium-full body and a soft, moderate carbonation. Overall, a sweeter, fruitier, maltier Belgian Ale with a light, balancing spice. A bit too sweet for me, but not bad.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap at the brewpub. Color was a dark brown with minimal head. The aroma a bit of caramel and something else I couldn’t identify. The flavor was a little bit sweet and perhaps some roasted malt. More than anything it tasted flat. I wouldn’t get it again.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Clear brown with decent, fizzy, tan head / Mild nose of toast and dark caramel / Light to medium body, aggressive carbonation, thin, not very malty on order of an amber ale, with weak finish / Light, earthy flavors of dark caramel with notes of dark fruit and toast / Poor.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This beer comes in a 16 oz can, much like a Guinness Draft can. There was no nitrogen widget, mind you, and the beer was not similar to Guinness, so I probably shouldn’t have brought it up. Anyhoo, a mahogany pour with a modest creamy head. This was sort of an Americanized Belgian ale to me since it seemed to have some bitterness or dryness more akin to a pale ale (American). It was good, though. Worth a try. I would have preferred more abbeyness, if you’re picking up what I’m putting down.

Tall boy can served in a mini snifter.
A: Pours a clear mohagony color with a foamy tan head forming on the pour. Recedes a thin ring that leaves some splotchy sticks of lace.
S: Caramel with some mild fig and raisin. Unripe pears with heavy bready malt flavors.
T: Grainy, cracker malts with some light stale bread. Light toffee with a pale malt finish and mild background raisin.
M: Medium to light bodied with a medium carbonation level and semi-sweet finish.
O: The nose was nice, but the taste was a slight let down. I was expecting a fully body and more dark fruit flavors.
