transparent orange, white head reduces to ring quickly. Nose is earthy, lightly grassy hops, bit muted. Flavor has more sugar, paper and caramel hints behind earthy grass and clay. Low Carbonation benefits soft profile, pleasant finish.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
This is a very fruity beer. There are the fruit notes on both the aroma and the taste. It pours brown with a very slight purple tinge to it. Reading the description, I get the raisin. But not the rest.

Can. Pours mostly clear brown with a trace of fizzy, beige head which dissipates quickly. Aroma is herbs, corn, straw and toasted malt and celery. Flavor is mostly malt with some supporting fruit esters; dry, herbal finish. Medium body and carbonation, with low warmth.

Dark and rich. A bit sour with a flavor full of dark fruits and belgian yeastiness. Thick and oily on the tongue.

16 oz can. Pours the color of cola with a similar thinness and transparency in the light. Carbonation leaves a nice dense (but thin) head and little carbonation rises or sticks to the sides of the glass. First approach with the nose leaves the sensation of stepping into the grain bin of grandpaís farm when I was a kid or going to the grain silos with him. Kind of a dusty and grainy aroma. Closer analysis indicates there is a little hint of dark fruit in the background, but itís almost all grain. Iím wondering where the Belgian yeast complexity is at, because Iím not finding it in the nose. Flavor is better. Sure, itís heavy with dusty grain, a little bit of a woodsy flavor (leaf detritus and firewood), nuts and just a hint of raisin or prune. It is light on the palate and doesnít go very far... kind of thin. I like it enough, but it seems to lack complexity.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma brings light spicy incense and Belgian sweet malty yeast notes. The raisins and pours described come through for sure on the aroma. Pours mahogany in color with a ton of bubbles. The flavor is malty, with light caramel and fruity fig notes on a smooth medium body.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
16 ounce can into tulip glass, no canning date. Pours moderately hazy deep ruby red color with a 2 finger fairly dense light khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big cherry, raisin, prune, pear, caramel, candi sugar, pepper, clove, toast, light chocolate, herbal, brown sugar, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast and malt notes; with good strength. Taste of cherry, raisin, prune, pear, caramel, toast, pepper, clove, candi sugar, light chocolate, molasses, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of dark fruits, caramel, toast, clove, pepper, light chocolate, candi sugar, molasses, herbal, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast and dark malt flavors; with a good malt/spiciness balance and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, lightly slick, and slightly syrupy mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice Belgian dark ale! All around good balance, complexity, and robustness of fruity/spicy yeast and malt flavors; and very smooth to drink. A very enjoyable offering.
