COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
One of our most anticipated and highly talked about specialty releases, This hearty dark ale is fermented with our rustic Belgian yeast strain which gives the beer a farmhouse tartness followed by big dark chocolate notes, and hints of black cherries. Fermentation temperatures often climb past 90°F which builds the distinctive flavors. No adjuncts are added to this beer-- these robust layers of flavor are yeast driven. Listen to the lunatic.

Draft. Hazy brown color, small tan head. Aroma of very roasty cocoa and chocolate. Taste is softly sour coffee. Maybe should be classified as a sour?

Tap. Poured a clear dark brown color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted and produced good lacing. Moderate toasted dark chocolate and soft cherry aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium toasted dark sweet flavor with a medium dark sweet finish of moderate duration. This is an interesting brew.

Pint can. Poured a black color, with brown edges and an off white head. Chocolate, dark fruits, yeast, and a bit roasty. Tart cherries .... digging the tart finish.

Tallboy can shared at a tasting. Pours a clear dark brown with a thin fizzy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of chocolate, butter, roasted malts, mild dark fruits. The taste is nuts, chocolate, cocoa, mild citrus and dark fruits. Thin-medium bodied, the name is a bit misleading as we were expecting tartness.
