4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Smells beautiful, very sweet, some sour notes and bright tropical fruits in the aroma. Hazy golden, long lasting huge white head. Interesting flavor, candi sugar comes through upfront in the middle and finish the tropical notes come through and finishes with a hint of sourness, belgian spices and a hint of heat. Very unique and interesting belgian strong ale/double IPA. Medium bodied and average carbonation.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Pour is a bright hazed golden amber with a fair bit of white head and medium bubbles with strong retention. Nose has a fair bit of candied sugar, very stale grain, messy yeast and a touch of lemony esters. Faint grassy hay hops. Taste is similar, sweet candied sugar up front, stale grains with a metallic note, lots if sugar mid to late palate with sweet citrus punch and a grassy bitter hop finish with moderate acidity. Finish is syrupy, a bit fizzy on the throat, coats the mouth.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a hazy brown with a thin white head. Aroma is sweet Belgian. Flavor is a mix of sweet Belgian yeast and tropical fruits, with a tad bit of hops. I guess I can sort of see the IPA connection, as the can calls it, but this is a Belgian ale all the way. Not great, but it’s still decent.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured can to pint. Hazy, brown/orange. Unusual but interestingly good. Not an DIPA, but yeah it is hoppy. Sweet candy balanced by the Belgian yeast.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
definitely truth in advertising, in that there is a Belgian candied sugary flavor that is quite prominent. Not reading the label beforehand however, I wasn’t expecting this, even though I’ve had quite a few Belgian IPAs previously. Usually in this style you get Belgian yeast in the malt bill. Therefore, high marks for originality, but at the end this is an interesting experiment that I’m not sure bears repeating.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Can: Translucent caramel, burnt orange body with a slightly soapy, off-white cap that wastes no time settling down to a modest ring. Aroma starts very grassy & pine-forward but with a little coaxing (& warmth), you get big-time sweetness notes of Candi sugar coated grapefruits, honey covered orange flesh, & dripping wet, sticky sweet citrus notes. Apparent Belgian yeast, moderate estery & earthiness, a hint of gum & coriander. More caramel aromas as time passes. Quite a sweet taste, too. Sweet & fruity. Grapefruit, orange marmalade, pineapple, lemon, citrus, maybe even a little papaya. All very sweet, sugar coated, candied, & layered with light caramel glaze. Belgian yeast adds a modest spice aspect with some undertones of grass, clove, & slightly medicinal esters. Slightly sticky, pretty sweet finish. I do not enjoy this as a DIPA; it is far too sweet. However the heavy Belgian yeast keeps it from being a complete train wreck, & the sweet fruitiness of the brew makes this a decent "Belgian Strong Ale" or whatever. Not bad at all, but not something I’d really ever reach for (especially if I wanted a Double IPA).

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Can @ Richard’s Tasting. Copper colored pour with a white head. Fruity, sweet aroma of grape, peach, and apple. Lots of caramel and brown sugar. Light floral hops and some mild citrus. Very sweet on the palate. Overly so, in fact. Bubblegum, caramel, and brown sugar. Ripe peach and white grape juice. Light hop bitterness along with some flowers and orange peel. Not good as a double IPA, but as a sweet Belgian beer, not bad.
