COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Triomphe: Belgian IPA 6.5% abv 16 oz large tulip glass This beer is made with a classic Belgian style yeast strain that gives the complexity and slight sweetness you may expect from a Belgian style ale, but then reaches deeper providing a smack-down of American hops. Served in a large Tulip glass to capture the and focus the hop aromas.

From Can. Pours Medium Amber with thick foamy white head. Smell a lot of funk and chalkiness, not as much spice or citrus as I expected. Taste is malt/honey forward with some slight musk and a dry bitterness that lingers. Medium bodies with a nice soft layer created on the tongue. I love the Belgian IPA style but I'm still looking for one that is more aggressive on either the IPA or the Belgian side. This one is safe on both fronts. Good news is that it is pretty drinkable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can, Ann Arbor, MI via Plum Market. Murky amber gold. Citrus resin aroma. Some honey. Sweet, then a metallic hop flavour with some chalkiness. More honey on the long dry finish.

Canned 12/18/14, drunk 12/4/15.
Copper-golden body is clear, topped by a small white head with moderate to moderately low retention.
Metal, alcohol, sharp, perfumey esters and peppery phenols are what’s left a year later, now that the hops have faded.
Same in the mouth. Intensely sharp, alcoholic and heavily phenolic. Some sweetness, rather artificial, remains, with the same loose, artificial carbonation that all of their canned beers seem to have. A Belgian IPA should be pleasantly Belgian after the hops fade, with esters, phenols and malt character interestingly replacing the hops. Instead, a flabby texture, flaws and alcohol are what remains behind. Drainpour.

Can at Shoeless Joe’s, 11/16/15. Clear golden-orange color with an off white head and drippy lacing. Citrus and citrus rind on the aroma and flavor. Has a yeasty spice component, as well as some grassy notes. Tastes balanced with the hops coming through more on the drier close. Feels medium bodied with a softer carbonation. Dryness feels more like that of a dry Saison than an IPA, but it definitely has that Belgian-style IPA feel overall. First thing I’ve tried from these guys, and this is a solid, but not amazing beer.

Pretty decent IPA with some nice belgian yeasty contributions. Clear orange with cloves and candy sugar.

Canned. Pours clear honey, big white head. Aroma is esters, mild dark fruits, banana, slight wheat, some lemon and orange peel. Citrus is there but only to balance. Flavor is interesting. Hops up front, citrus, lemon peel, slight funk, Belgian yeast and esters. Interesting balance. Slightly bitter finish. Actually pretty cool.

Copper orange with medium lacing. Nose of light spicy belgian yeast esters. Taste has elements of spicy belgian yeast notes, bitter citrus hops, and bitter finish. Not a fan of the style, but one of the less offensive offerings out there.

From can. Sulfur hop funk and orange peel. Light hoppy character but mostly the nose of a Belgian ale. Pleasant. Brilliant orange-amber clear with foamy white lacing head. Medium body with medium carbonation. Starts moderately sweet with orange-yeasty tang and light hop acidity. Moderate bitterness with some yeasty esters and light carbonic note. Mild bitter finish with lingering orange zest after.

16oz can into a glass. Pours a clear orange honey amber. Minimal head, fast fading white head. Aroma of orange spice, sour green apple, Belgian spice, with a pleasant fruitiness overall. Good hybrid here, there could be a more vibrant hop punch, but its still solid. Sweet and dry fruit peels, a bouncy hop stature, and a cleansing finish. Bitter aftertaste, smooth transition for more. Solid brew.

On tap at brewery vivant. Great mixture of Belgian and ipa. I have had other offerings from this hybrid style but this one really nails it. More Belgian than ipa but that's what you want out of it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
