COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Triomphe: Belgian IPA 6.5% abv 16 oz large tulip glass This beer is made with a classic Belgian style yeast strain that gives the complexity and slight sweetness you may expect from a Belgian style ale, but then reaches deeper providing a smack-down of American hops. Served in a large Tulip glass to capture the and focus the hop aromas.

Can: The aroma consists of light orange, peach, Belgian yeast, and faint grapefruit. It pours a transparent amber with a one-finger orange tinged off-white head that eventually fades to a thin film outlined by a thicker ring. Thereís some spotty webbing left behind for lacing. The flavor starts with orange, caramel, peach, and light Belgian yeast. The finish has light-moderate grapefruit, lighter pine, and a touch of spice. Light-medium boided with light-moderate carbonation. Overall, the Belgian characteristics are much more mild compared to other Belgian IPAs Iíve previously had. Itís a decent thirst quencher, but probably not something Iíd look to if Iím in the Belgian IPA mood.

16 oz can. Pours amber with a white head. Light grassy, floral hop aroma. Flavor is similar, floral, grassy, hints of citrus hops. Itís an alright pale ale on its own, but Iím not sure where the "Belgian" is supposed to come in.

16oz can from rayl101. Pours a clear copper color with off-white head and nice carbonation. Some lacing is left behind as the head falls. Aroma is carmel, some citrus, wood. Taste follow suit, but is not overly bitter. Its a bit thin which detracts from the beer although it does make it go down easily. Missing something.

2012-07-08. Crisp golden amber body with tiny beige head. 3+ Flavour is mild, cereally grainy malt, light bitterness. 6+ Lightly yeasty, grassy cereal notes, light "Belgianness" to it, sweet caramel malt notes. Sort of an earthy quality to the hops. 6+ Average bodied palate. Just okay. Can from Cloverleaf, Royal Oaks, Michigan

Vivant Flight draught. 28viii13. Potable yet underprofiled herbal IPA with some tentative Belgian yeast characteristics, but none of its complexity. Saved by traditional US hop aromas. Might benefit from more fermenting time in the tubes.

[Tap] Deep golden color with a small and somewhat fizzy head. Nose is not particularly hoppy, but more focused on Belgian yeasty notes. Taste is more hoppy and includes citrus rind and grassy notes. Spicy white pepper notes imparted by the yeast in the finish. Lively carbonation. Not bad, but flavors seemed to be more muted compared to other beers in this style.

16 oz. can pour into my Paulaner stein. A slightly above average Belgian IPA. Had on tap at Dukeís Canoe Club in Portland, MI in July í11, much better on tap. Maybe having it out of a can turned me off slightly, still getting used to canned crafts.
