Bottle in Seattle, found locally but recommended by by Mr Ippopotamo himself. Oily black pour with thick tan foam that lingers in a gorgeous ring. Anise and balsamic aroma (am I thinking too Italian?). Gorgeous thick body with alcohol overtones. Flavorful, clean, sharp, lots of dark depth but very drinkable and sharp flavors. Delicious.

Bottle 0.33l sample at Amsterdam Craft Beer Fest 2016 Bret. Taste with Zlotta. 10.06.2016. Pour it dark color with small brown head. Aroma roasted coffee beans really intense nice. Taste roasted coffee, dark chocolate, spicy chilli in a trace, silky feel, leather, smooth texture, milky finish, medium to full body, long after taste of coffee. Nice one!

Pours dark brown / black color with light brown head. Big coffee aroma with chocolate and roasted malt. Espresso and bittersweet chocolate flavor with roasted malt. Full body with minimal carbonation. Very nice.

It pours coffee-like black with a thin espresso head. Roasty aroma with delicate hints of coffee. Aroma is solid malty, roasty, with strong coffee, chilli and cocoa. Very complex and flavourful, full bodied delight.

330ml bottle. Pitch black with one finger brown head. Aroma of green chili spice, coffee beans, cocoa and slightly roasted black bread. Taste initially has the same green chili spiciness but is then taken over by coffee beans, cocoa beans, light roasted black bread and cold press coffee. The green chili spiciness in aroma and taste intrigues me, I’d guess it’s a side effect from the cocoa beans used and like it or not it sure does add an interesting additional dimension to the beer. Medium mouthfeel, light carbonation and lasting aftertaste containing all taste elements previously found in the beer including, towards the end, the green chili notes.

33cl bottle. Pitch black pour with a medium height tan head that gives way to a thin, sticky lacing. Smells like cold brewed coffee, roasted malts, cherries, subtle vanilla bean and milk chocolate. The taste follows the same notes, roasty bitter, chocolate sweet and a bit hoppy. Full body with low carbonation and a velvet smooth roasty bitter-sweet finish.

15-07-2016, Delft Doerak met Rob Lekkere stout! Weinig schuim. Banaan, cacao en koffie smaak. Scherpe smaak. Springt er meteen uit, alleen over smaak valt te twisten. Blijft lang hangen.

Uit de fles geschonken. Mooi zwart bier. Prima!

Roasted malt, chocolate malt and coffee. A lot of coffee. Something in the taste is a bit off putting. I think it’s the bitterness of the coffe. Or maybe the added spaghetti? Yes, it is listed under ingredients. Fun little addition to the recepie, but I don’t know if it adds anything. Bitter finish.
