Black pour. Aroma is bad coffee grains. Bitter coffee front of palate, dry dark chocolate on the back end. Medium bodied. Overall, decent stuff but not tons of flavour.

Bottle from gbbf 2015 and drunk at home. Black beer lasting tan head. just a top notch drinkable imperial stout. Espresso coffee aroma some choc. Balance In the mouth of malts. Dry. Not overly hoppy. Dry finish. Like a dry coffee liqueur. Excellent.

Pours a solid black with a very foamy brown head. It has a rich aroma of coffee, some chocolate, and a bit of spice. The flavor is coffee and chocolate up front with a coffee backbone and finish over a heavy and foamy body. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draught. Opaque black liquid with small tan head. Aroma of coffee, chili, licorice, chocolate, light ash and dried fruits. Taste is light to medium sweet and light bitter with notes of chocolate, coffee, licorice and light chili. Full bodied with medium carbonation. Super good. The Prairie influence really shows.

Bottle from Beer Hawk. Jet black pour, substantial off white grey brown foam. Very in your face beer. Overpowering slightly stale bitter coffee, reminiscent of those grim all day coffee machines you get where the coffee sits there for hours getting more stewed and bitter and yet never really hot. I guess this is where some other reviewers get coffee grounds, I see that too. Underlying malts are punchy, bit of booze, and any hop flavour is carried away by this coffee. I ought to stop buying these coffee stouts, I rarely like them.

330ml bottle enjoyed @ home. Pours black with a big and creamy beige head. Aroma is used coffee filter, roasted malt, liquorice root, tar and dark chocolate. Flavour is medium sweet and medium bitter. Medium to full bodied, oily texture, soft carbonation. Finish is coffee, bitter and a little dry.
