Pours a viscous coffee black with a PROFUSE dark tan head. Extremely carbonated and foamy, some notes seem like they could be coming from an infection. Nose has a coffee liqueur quality to it with notes of brown sugar, fruit skins, acetaldehyde, and a light chemical-ly note. Flavor gets real weird. kind of stale bready malt and an old coffee note. Some booze showing through and an off kind of bitterness. Medium full body.

Bottle received in trade from MrBarleywine, thanks for the opportunity Mike! Dark brown with the faintest of garnet at the edges and a decent sized frothy mocha head that slowly recedes. Huge coffee and chocolate on the nose as advertised, but hard to find much else there. The flavor is rich roasty malt with plenty of chocolate and coffee and maybe a hint of earth. Medium to thick body with a rich creamy velvety mouthfeel, and a light level of carbonation. There’s not a whole lot of complexity here, but damn if this isn’t just a fun sweet tasty beverage.

Bottle from Voldby, shared with Niller - pours black with a good sized brown head. Roasted malty aroma and taste, with chocolate, prominent coffee, big roasty finish, lovely brew.

Had on tap at Brown Derby liquor store in Springfield, MO. Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma is chocolate and lots of roast. Flavor follows with lots of chocolate and some coffee. Really nice beer. Better than I had hoped.

Pretty dark with half finger mocha head. Smells of earthy coffee, vegetal, chocolate, malt. Taste has a slight hop spice to it, rye, vegetal, a little bit of chocolate, black coffee, cigarette ash, roasty. Medium to thin mouth, alcohol hidden, roasted bitter stays on the tongue for a bit. Decent. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Keg. Black with a medium sized light brown head. Earthy coffee in the nose. Flavour is also dominated by coffee with some hard roasted malt, vanilla and dark chocolate, liquorice and light molasses. Medium body, a bit sticky in the finish, soft light prickling carbonation, light salty and acidic. Works well for me.

Bottle poured a translucent dark reddish brown with a lasting brown head. Aromas of roasted malt, coffee, bitter coclate and light earthiness. Palate was medium to full bodied and smooth. Flavors of roasted malt, coffee and bitter chocolate with a smooth lingering chocolate coffee finish.

330ml bottle. Jet black colour with late awakening, average, thick, frothy to creamy, fairy lasting, moderately lacing, mocha head. Roasty, cocoa and coffee aroma, cappuccino, mocha gateau, coffee beans. Taste is roasty dark malty, moderately bitter (hop and roast induced), some coffee, coffee beans. Relatively light, very drinkable - not only for the infantile degustation, I guess.

Bottle @ De Tolly, Tartu. Dark brown, almost black color. Small head. Coffee and chocolate notes. Both bitterness and sweetness in aftertaste. Soft carbonation. Alcohol is noticeable. Certainly above average imperial stout.
