On tap at Frisco Tap House & Brewery in Columbia, MD. Opaque, brown-black with a small tan head and fair lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, dark fruit, caramel, chocolate, tomato (or is that my imagination?) and licorice. Taste of licorice, coffee, sweet chocolate, roasted malt and dark fruit. Medium body and medium/low carbonization. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours black with small beige head. Strong aroma of fresh roasted coffee and cocoa. Wow. Full-bodied but not sweet, loads of dark malts, coffee and dark chocolate, you know, 90% cocoa. Really nice, bitter, roasted aftertaste. Very good one.

Aroma is dark malts, fruit, chocolate and a slight weird bread/spaghetti quality. The flavor is dark malts, coffee, coffee, fruit/berries and a tart/mildly acidic/alcoholic finish.

Bottle from WFP. Pours thick and rich jet black with no head. Like James Evans, this beer wants to prove itself. It succeeds, with a huge coffee, jalapeno oil, and choc malt in the nose. The taste is rich, complex, with roasty and rich choc malts, cacao, hop peppers, and hops. More complex late, with emerging peppers and mole sauce notes, this beer kicks ass. I could put this beer alongside the best in America and nobody without my gargantuan palate would know the difference. This beer is outstanding, Boo Yah!

BBE 14.02.16 - Pours pitch black with a smooth light brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate, coffee, cocoa and licorice. Taste is smooth, sweetish and roasty with some lingering licorice, dark chocolate and coffee notes. Finish is lingering with roastiness and bitterness, some notes of dark chocolate, salty licorice, coffee and cocoa. Quite interesting and balanced.

Bottle, thanks to k0mpsa. Pours almost black color with small tan head. Aroma of roasted coffee, dark malt and dark chocolate. Full bodied. Palate presents delightful coffee with malty notes. Long flavorful ending with pretty warmth of alcohol. Great brew!

Black pour with thin tan head. Bitter Coffee and Chocolate nose with a slightly sweet undertone. Mostly coffee followed by chocolate. Slightly carbonated body, thinner than i’d expect. dry mild finish. not too boozy. They say spaghetti is an ingredient but unclear what the spaghetti does here. Still a solid imperial stout.
