mstockton (224) - Frankfurt, - JUN 4, 2012
Poured from a bottle. Nice hoppy aroma with little head. Good dark, coppery color....somewhat opaque. When tasting, the hops come through first, but it becomes a bit of a roasted, nutty flavor. Not so heavily carbonated which is nice and can’t be said of many other European West Coast style IPA’s (too much carbonation). Overall, a really nice beer that would be a mid to better than average IPA in the USA. Good effort.

Pint (50cl) in Singapore. Golden brown with a good 2 finger head. Love the bitterness combined with a malty aftertaste which adds a touch of smoothness. Exceeded my expectations

Location: Draft at Cannibal, 6/14/14

Aroma: The nose is fruity, more overripe than hoppy, with some underlying toasted malts
Appearance: It pours a hazed orange-amber color with a decent amount of beige head
Flavor: The flavor is along the same lines, sweet malts, overripe fruit, and some hop bitterness
Palate: The body of this one is medium, and it has a pretty decent mouthfeel to it
Overall Impression: I thought this was decent, but not great. Maybe a little on the flawed side, but it is still a solid beer.

Hazy light brown amber color with enourmous head. Aroma is caramel and some hops. Flavor is strong caramel malt, sweet and bitter finish. Could use some more hops.

Kauge (97) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - JUN 10, 2014
Bottle from Stockmann alcoholic beverages department (€ 3,80 + 0,08) in Tallinn, May 2014. Pours deep amber, hazy. Head is white and stays beautifully. Looks great! Aroma strikes at first as surprisingly boozy, although it doesn’t get much in the way of the overall caramelly and bittersweet character. Something weird in here too. Dry dirt? Metallic? Or is this indeed the reek of stale bureau/ocracy? But it’s really not that bad. Later as it warms, the distinctive Amarillo steps more into light, making it slightly more likable. Taste is intensely bitter, somewhat citrusy and fruity, dark honey-like sweet, caramelly, yeasty, grassy, also dirty and dusty. Medium body, bit less than medium carbonation. Dry bitter finish, long lasting. Love IPA’s but I’m really not a fan of this one. Too old school. Too malty. Disappointing really.
