Sampled draft @ CML Italian Beer Festival 2013. Thx! to Sebletitje. Golden, patchy white head. Smell is thick yeast, very pilsner profile, more substantial malt-bill than usual, light grass, touch bitter,… Taste is thick pilsner malt profile, slightly sweet, lots of grains in a good way, bitter floral, herbal, grains,… Body is quite full for the style. Nice pilsner. When Chuck Norris drinks beer, the beer doesn’t get him drunk. The beer gets Chuck-Noirrised. This was a Budweiser before Chuck Norris got to it :)

Bottle from Hop Hideout, Sheffield. Hazy gold. Thin, white head. This is an odd beer. Aroma is pils, with added grapefruit pithiness. Taste follows the same theme. Easy drinking, but has oomph. Enjoyed this a good deal, despite the slight disjointedness. Which may, or may not, be a real word.

Taste comprises citrus, grass, spice, pale malts, touch of booze evident but pitched very well. Medium bodied with bite, soft carbonation, fair smooth ont he palate, some bitterness in the finish. Decent!

Bottle shared with benzai @ benzai. Hazy yellow to orange colour with a big off-white head. Smells malts, grains, hoppy, slightly fruity, fresh. Tastes malts, grains, slightly hoppy and fruity, bitter, some orangepeel, some grapefruit. A tasteful, not too alcoholic imperial pils with a nice hop character? Nice! Especially considering that most imperial pilseners are the European equivalent of a malt liquor. Medium body, great carbo. Nice beer.

Leighton (10987) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 21, 2013
Bottle shared with Nellie at the hotel in Rome - picked up at Domus Birrae. Pours clear gold with a fine, white cream head. Sugary white bread aroma, some cereal, hay. Medium sweet flavor with lots of simple white bread malts, mellow alcohol kick, some ripe tropical fruits, a bit of hay. Medium to full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Lightly warming on the finish with more simple, lightly dried white bread, low bitterness, straw, dough. Easygoing for a strong pils.

330ml bottle, pours hazy golden brown with no head, carb pretty low, aroma is biscuity malt, with spice, vegetable, orange peel and lemon zest. Palate is quite thick but juicy. Defiinitely a pilsner, but with more going on in the background. Carb could be a stronger and the beer could be a bit more more crisp, but pretty decent.

Bit metallic, herbal classic hops, dry. Well developed, dry body. Medium active carbonation. Really nice taste, drinking super easy. Clearly some lager goodness, well aged. (On tap at Les Trois 8 at the 1FRBG)
