Bottiglia 33 cl. Marrone con schiuma beige pannosa e persistente. Aromi intensi di caffè tostato, liquirizia, cacao. Bocca secca, watery, meno morbida del previsto.....sembra più amara dei 24 IBU dichiarati.....

33cl bottle. Dark brown with a large khaki head. Aroma is roasty - liquorice, cold coffee, hops (generic lager hoppiness), Caramel, creamy lactose. It’s like there isn’t a particularly high roasted malt percentage, but the roasted malts are really high ebc and very bitter, which is also the impression in the taste. A biit of lactose and caramel sweetness, but a lot of roasted malts, coming off pretty bitter. Ashy, liquorice and coffee grind. Light bodied, almost watery texture. Decent effort, no flaws, but I’d like a more smooth and less roasted malt bill in this type of stout.

Thx to kiwianer Pours dark opaque black with large loose tan head. Smell is roasted malt, black licorice, coffee, rich fruit, lactose. Taste is sweet rich malt, licorice,  roasted malt,  dry finish.  Body is medium with active course carbonation. A decent beer.

Flaske 0,33l fra Vinmonopolet, Bestillingsutvalget. Drukket hjemme 4 Aug 12. Svart. Veldig høyt lysebrunt kremaktig skum som varer lenge. Veldig god sjokoladearoma med litt kaffe. Smaken er søt sjokolade og lite annet.

0.33l bottle. This one pours a deep dark brown body and it has an impressive big light tan head that sticks around for a while. Tons of sweet milk chocolate on the aroma, some light ashes, coffee and dark fruits also, but the milk chocolate really sticks itself out here. Quite nice. It’s quite lively carbonated and it has a mild oily mouthfeel. In the taste I get dry espresso powder, dry chocolate, smooth roastiness, a little bit of bitter cold coffee, and tones of cardboard in the end. Leaving a mild dry tongue in my mouth. Enjoyable. 01.08.2012

Tap at the Euston Tap - 11/08/12. Off black with a minimal head soon thinning to nothing. Sweet malts and chocolate on the nose. Similar taste to aroma with a little nutiness. Medium bodied with a sweet finish.

Bottle. Cola black/brown with short lasting tan head. Faint chocolate aroma, some burnt toast. Similar taste, nice roast character. Slightly sweet with a light lingering chocolatey finish. Not bad

Tap at Euston Tap. Dark black colour, no head. Not much of an aroma. Very pleasant taste, soft malt, I got more of the milk and less of the chocolate. Being quite sweet the finish is pretty brief. Slightly thin palate. Well made, but I never get very excited by this style.

Bottle. Pours black with barely any highlights at all, just some brown where the light shines through. Massive tan head that stays for ages, good amount of lacing. Aroma is subdued at first due to the massive foamy head, but there are definitely some burnt malts in here which gives it a slightly acidic character, some dark chocolate, and something a bit metallic. Smells like it’ll be sweet on the tongue. Fairly straight forward flavourwise, burnt notes and chocolate. Some sourness from the burnt malts. Light to medium bodied, medium carbonation. Decent, drinkable stout, nothing incredible.
