Draft at Churchkey. Pours dark brown to black in color with a medium sized khaki colored head. The aroma and flavor have a nice dose of roasted malt, chocolate and hints of coffee. Some earthy and resiny hops come through. Moderate bitterness to the finish. Solid black IPA that provides influences from both sides.

33 cl bottle @ Konttori. Pours deep dark brown, almost black color, small beige head. Roasty and malty aroma, lots of fruits, hops and caramel also. Extremely smooth and creamy palate with roasted malts, hops, citric fruits and some cocoa on the flavor, mild chocolate and vanilla also. Distant coffee can be found also. Moderate carbonation, lingering roasty finish. Like the house X-Ray with a large bowl of hops added. Tasty! 4516

Darker than many BIPAs, this one is almost black. The light-brown head is a bit small and short-lived, but it laces the glass well. The aroma is strong and mainly roasted with coffee, but with a firm fruity backdrop. Actually, after a while (and after having tasted the beer) I find the aroma more and more hoppy. In addition this smells of alcohol and sweat, nah... The taste is moderate to light sweet and the long finish is sharp, grassy and herbal heavy to moderate bitter, in other words not particularly pleasant. Fruity flavour with roasted coffee and too much alcohol. Apart from the too demanding finish, the mouthfeel is pleasant. The body is close to full, the texture is smooth and oily and the carbonation is moderate to soft. A decent beer, but still one of the least successful BIPAs I’ve had.
[33 cl bottle, enjoyed 10 months before BB date, from Vinmonopolet Vika, Oslo]

Draft at Birch & Barley. Pours very dark brown with a thick, creamy beige head and lots of lacing. Tastes strong, like dried prunes, mild raisins, booze, tobacco, light ash, burnt toast and coffee bitterness. Medium body and light/medium carbonation. Smells like very mild coffee bitterness.

Bottle from vinmonopolet vika, enjoyed at home. Pours black with a small beige head. Smells a bit weak but makes up for it in the taste. Nice one. :)
