Almost opaque dark brown/ruby color, good creamy brownish head. Grassy, roasted aroma with licorice. Medium-bodied. Lots of licorice, then nice grassy, "fresh", hoppyness. Lingering mix of licorice and hops. Well in balance. Masterpiece black IPA, as good as the best CDAs I had in Portland.

Bottle @ dEnk’s, thanks! Black pour, thin off-white head. Aroma is roasty, some floral hops, creamy and spicy. Flavor is bitter roasted, some hops and chocolate. Slightly sweet. A bit messy and not much of an IPA, but well drinkable.

Bottle @ home. Aroma has earthy herbal hops, some roasty liquorice malt notes, chocolate and light caramel. Flavour is very roasty, with caramel, liquorice, molasses and more. More of a stout than an ipa.

Bottle 330 ml at home, poured into a tulip glass. ABV 8.2% Pours a black beer, with a very tall brown head on top. Thick, with very good retention. Heavy lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops, pine, grapefruit, roasted malts, light chocolate. Amazing combination. Taste of citrus fruits, pine, orange peel, moderate hoppy. Aftertaste has coffee and mild bitterness. Medium thick body, good carbonation. Nice dry palate. Overall a very good black IPA, not so hoppy but very tasty nevertheless.

330 ml bottle from beer-shop.it, served into a pint glass. Dark brown with some ruby red tinges, and a beige frothy head. Pungent aroma of resiny hops, wet leaves, black tea, and just a hint of roasted malts and fresh coffee beans. Heavy bitterness, but without being overwhelming, little astringency. Pleasent creamy mouthfeel, medium body and medium to light carbonation. Pretty solid BIPA, but I’d love to try a very fresh bottle or better yet, on tap.

Tap@ahven. Pitch black. Rubbery chocolate, with a bunch of citrus pine hops. Full bodied, smooth with a salt licorice, slightly astringent, ashy roasted finish. Some yeasty flavours, a lot of green citrus hops. Some sweetness, but surprisingly drinkable for the abv. Nice one, could have another.

Pours dark. Smells of alcohol and lighted roasted malts. Tastes of malts, hops, bitter, and alcohol. Light/medium carbonation and lasting bitter on the tongue.

On draft. Pours with no head. Dark brown to black color. Light hop aroma with some background roast. Light bitterness with some light hop flavor. Some roast chocolate flavors too. Could use more hop flavor. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Opaque dark brown beer with a good pale tan head. Smooth palate with light fine carbonation. Smooth dark malt, no roast or bitterness. Nice dark malt cream. Pleasant mellow pine hops and a touch of red berry fruits. Smooth finish makes a smooth Black IPA.
