3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
330ml bottle from Beermoth. Not quite sure what happened with the guys below, but my beer was completely fine. Pours chestnut brown, with a nice nuttiness, a slight sweetness with a touch of dark fruit. It is nice, but I donít quite think these guys have the style nailed yet. ESB is a deceivingly difficult style to do well and this needs a bit more work.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Extreme gushing!!! I worked very hard to open them, I had never seen such a fountain of foam. Moreover: hazy amber color with dirty-white head. Sweet aroma: caramel, malts, bread, fruity. Semi sweet taste, with small bitterness and sourness. Notes of caramel, malts. yeasts some hops and fruits. Thin body with huge carbonation which disturb. Very sparkling. Something must have gone wrong in the brewery.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
330 ml bottle from ArtigianBeer served (well, kinda) in a nonic pint glass. Heavy gusher alert!! Dark orange/lighr amber, quite hazy, with a huge and fluffy yellow-ish head which keep rising and rising. Aroma of burnt caramel, red berries, slightly roasted malts, light nuttiness and some cardboard as well. Very strange in the mouth, huge astringency, some sour notes. It gets better after a few minutes, with the caramel taste emerging, leaving a semi-sweet and roasty aftertaste. Way overcarbonated, and very thin body. Judging by some previous ratings (esp. Moscicki) I can see thare are quite a few off-bottles like this one. Clearly a mess.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
My first contact with this beer was really bad. I took it out from my cellar and opened it to face a spectacular gushing which resulted in half of a bottle gone around my kitchen and myself.
The leftovers werenít any good - in aroma there was a mixture of malty and caramel notes with some sourish background, I canít really name however it was really disturbing. The taste was sour and sweet, the palate was thin, the carbonation was way overdone.
I need to re-rate it at some point as perhaps my bottle was mishandled by retailers however I give it very low priority.

DWG; Pours hazy amber with a large frothy, lacing off-white to tan head. Nose is light roasted malty, caramell, fruity, nutty and spicy. Taste is bitter and lasting. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
330 bottle from Dogenzaka Shinanoya. Pours hazy copper with a massive brownish head. Foam rises very fast, so I even have to stop pouring for a couple of minutes. Aroma is thick with acidity, there is malt and there is some wine-like fruitiness, some grass. ESB is supposed to be maltier and hoppier than a normal bitter and I guess this is also true here. The beer feels quite bitter although there arenít many hop aromas in the forefront. It also has a strong body, you canít really drink this as easily as water or your usual bitter. Some fruitiness and caramel in the middle, long bitter finish. Not bad at all - but would like to try this one straight out of brewery, somehow I feel that I am missing out a bit.

2.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle from Yamaichi. Yeast, light cookie-ish sweet malt, floral hop nose. Deep copper color with a thick rocky head. Very rought initial / light malty sweetness and harsh bittering / finish has more bittering and then itís gone. Medium body, quite overcarbonated. Not smooth at all. Bittering doesnít work well. Not really much of an ESB.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle at home. Hazy orange to amber pour, huge white head. Aroma of fruity hops, quite yeasty, a bit of soap and somewhat grainy. Flavor is quite bitter, a bit fruity and a bit spicy. Decent body, only a bit messy brew.
