Bottle from Beer Ritz, Leeds. Pours very dark with tan head that doesn’t last too long. Aroma is coffee and liquorice. Starts with a bit of fruity sweetness before the liquorice flavour really kicks in with increasing bitterness and a bit of warming alcohol. Very rich and smooth. Very nice, but leaves a bit of a bitter after-taste that I wasn’t keen on.

Bottle shared by Marcus. Pours dark brown/black with no head. Aroma is chocolate and vanilla. Near full bodied. Flavor is chocolate, burnt malt, some vanilla. Seems to have fruit of the lighter sort. Even perhaps citrus in the finish. Surprisingly complicated. Good stuff.
