33 cl from Melgers @ home. €1,- only, because 2 months past the bb date. Almost black color. Big beige head with good retention. Aroma’s: heavily roasted malts, burnt wood, slightly salty/umami, with some (milk-) chocolatey sweetness retronasal. Flavor is moderate sweet, roasted, light fruit. Medium bodied. High carbo (foaming in the mouth). Finishes with lots of roast, chocolate, light sourness, ash and fairly dry bitterness. Nice!

Tap. Definitely a good beer to have off tap, although it’s probably not as fresh as it should be here in Australia...

12oz bottle, from Party Source. Dark brown color, near black. Chunks of yeast in the body. Thin ring of tan head. Dots of lace. Nice dark chocolate, coffee aromas, milk chocolate. Mild roast. Some caramel and dark fruit. Cola. Moderate to bigger sweet taste, light to moderate bitter. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, kind of crisp lighter carbonation. Kind of slick texture. A bit thicker, but not as chewy as some of the better American imperial porters. Decent, flavorful robust stuff.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Black, tan head. Nose is really fruity grape/blueberry, licorice. Flavour has some roast and salty licorice mixed up with the fruit. Did I mention this is a fruity IP? Probably the most I’ve had in this style. Nice bitterness in the finish. This is excellent.
