A robust best bitter for the hop lovers. A generous helping of chinook hops makes this breezy brew a draft to remember.

On tap at Whistler, pours an opaque dark orange brown with a small white head. Aroma brings out bitter bready malt. Flavour is fairly bitter with English floral hops and crisp biscuity malt. Some slight off-flavours, but not too bad. Okay.

Tasting Flight at The Brewhouse, Sample # 3: Clear orange yellow, off-white head settles and fades. Moderately bitter British hop aroma and taste, faint C-malt, sessional. Softer than average carbonation, light-medium bodied, moderately hopped. LBW (Lagerboys Be Wary) ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Whistler Brewpub. Nice typically dark orange color. Unfortunatelly very watery and not bitter at all...

A weaker flatter version of an English bitter. Nice and refreshing but too much of a divergence from the style

On tap at the brewpub, a block from my hotel during the week. IBU of 30 was not enough. Too high a carbonation impeded the mouthfeel and the taste. Too much more like a slightly hoppy lager than a bitter, crystal malt used, not a great drinker. Not getting any hops in the smell, nothing special to look at.

Draft from sampler at the Brewhouse at $15.75CAD for six 6-ounce samples. One of the regular beers, very good!

Pint on tap at Whistler Brewhouse 03/20/2011. Colour: mid to dark brown with light head. Nose: very malty and surprisingly void of huge hop influence. Some brown sugar, chamomile tea, and grass round things out. Taste: Light sweet, medium bitter, light sour. The bitterness doesn’t punch like expected. Again a malty dominance although the hops do poke around mid to late. Some burnt caramel and smokey wood lay claim too. Not bad but not the English Bitter I expected, and for that the rating takes a bit of a dive.

Sampled at brewpub in Whistler. Pours a chestnut brown with thin off white head. Aroma is really absent, faintest waft of hops, some malt. Taste is slightly generic with a trace of bitterness but not really much of anything specific. Seems to be an attempt to appeal to the mainstream who think a slightly off colour lager is an adventure. Based on what I tasted today from this brewer this is inferior to other offerings.

turboespresso (256) - Port Moody, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 5, 2010
On tap. Fairly dark cola-brown with thick 1cm head that dissipates to a ring. Mild citric hop aroma and roasty malts. Leaves lots of lace. Served close to room temp, so it was quite warm. Taste is medium bodied roasty malts balanced with moderately bitter hops.

Draft at the brewpub. Menu said 5.4% ABV, 30 IBU’s. Poured a clear amber-light brown color with an off white head. Smelled of grassy hops and pale malt. Light to medium bodied with carbonation on the lower end of the spectrum. Pine and grass flavors were accompanied by an earthy note and pale malt. There was mild to moderate bitterness that peaked at the end.
