On nitro tap, dark brown with a creamy tan head. Aroma of some nuts and roasted malt. Flavour is sweeter with some nutiness. Resembles more of a stout to me due to the dryness.

Dark brown, creamy light brown head. Low nutty aroma, toasted nuts, light brown sugar. Some toffee and even a touch of chocolate towards the back of the beer. A touch of yeasty earthiness. Could use a bit more hoppiness, but is still pretty good.

On draft outdoors in Whistler. More of a porter to my taste than a nut brown: lots of roasted barley, a baby version of the stout that followed.

Dark amber in color with a malty nutty aroma. Malty flavours but barely any nuttyness in the flavour. Subtle hoppy aftertaste.

Hmmm...well, I'm chillin' at this brewpub in Whistler after a hard day's skiing and mulling over their brewing abilities. What to say? First, this so called nut brown is pretty mild and a far cry from quality offerings from Rogue and its ilk. The mildness was actually a harbinger of things to come as other High Mountain beers turned out to be a touch watery and ineffective. Adequate choco malt saves the day. No hops to speak of.

UPDATED: JAN 26, 2006 Dark brown colour. Fairy sweet with a hint of nuttiness, a bit of alcohol and harsh grainy astringency.
