3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle at The Noshery. Pours nearly black with a scant beige head. Aroma is nice and chocolaty, mild coffee. Tasye falls a bit short of aroma, some chocolate, some coffee, a bit of rye spice.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Coffee predominates here. Pitch black brew poured into a tulip. I got little head at all on a 6 month old bottle. Aroma of coffee, taste of coffee, smooth and well balanced. I recently read a thread here on the difference between porter and stout. As these things go, I thought I knew the difference, but after further reading, I was totally confused. Suffice it to say that this is a porter leaning heavily toward stout territory. Well done Brewmaster Jack!

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours dark brown, almost black. Thin, tan head. Generous lacing. Nose is chocolate malt with notes of coffee and rye. Flavor is a bit sweet, but coffee and spice bitterness comes through nicely. Full body, creamy soft carbonation.

12oz bottle given to my from JohGonk! Thanks bro! Pours out black with a finger of darker tan head. Aroma of dark toasted malt, burnt coffee, vanilla, and some rye spice. Taste mimics the nose with some hints of dry cardboard. Overall pretty solid!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Black pour, brown head. Fantastic aroma of dates, roast, chocolate, flavor of chocolate, roast, and vanilla. Not quite as big a body as I’d like, and bite isn’t quite up to the bark, but otherwise great.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Kind of new to this but suffice it to say this is a complex beer with a lot going on. Lots of body, great aroma, Dairy comes to mind which is bizarre as it has no taste of dairy. Nice, light CO2 mouth-feel with just a pleasant flavor, and at only 6.0% ABV, it’s very easy to drink. I like it a lot. An all-around nice Porter.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Wonderful full English malt aroma with a hint of earthy spice from the eye. Served cold so the head did not persist. Tasted malty but that same spicy note dried out the palate nicely. Got better as it warmed up. Chicolaty too
