COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a classic golden hued, Czech style pilsner lager. It is a smooth, slightly dry, medium bodied beer with a flowery hop aroma. Hops used in this beer are German Spalt and Tettnanger. The malted barley is mostly domestic two row.

The commercial description is adequate with these caveats: To me this brew lacks the hoppy bitter bite of a good true Pilsner and as a lager leans too much toward the standard American style of insipid body, head, and flavor. I would prefer it over most of the American standards, with the understanding that none of them are my preference. Its finish is mildly sweet. The bottles of Kenosha Gold that I acquired were brewed by Gray Brewing Co. of Janesville under authority of Brewmasters' Pub, Ltd. of Kenosha, WI

Festival tap: Clear yellow with tiny head. Lager yeast and graininess. Light all around. some faint grassiness at finish.

Protein hazed golden color with a small white cover of bubbles. Light malt and lager yeast aromas. Light pale malt, sweet start that leads to scads of floral hops and mild acidic bitterness. Actually served way too cold, but flavors still come out. Very malty finish.

Slightly hazy look. Bit better than the average pilsner. Very smooth almost like there's nothing there. However, that is a detriment to the overall appeal with no real flavors or tastes coming through. Some hops or malt would have been nice.
