Brown body, smells malty and hoppy-herb. The taste is hoppy, dark malty, intensiv hoppy. A bit like a brown IPA. 13/13/12/12/-/12

Dark brown color. Nice aroma of malt, caramel, elegant hops. Good malty taste, well balanced by caramel, roasted malt, aromatic bitterness. Very good.

Draught at the brewpub, 2006-02-10, 8-5-7-5-15=40
Dark mahogany color; thick creamy head. Very nice malty aroma, caramel and fruity hops; the taste as well is malty and fruity, with a good bitterness and some caramel. Excellent.

Sample from tap at the brewpub. Pours brown with a amber hue. Long lasting creamy head leaving wonderfull lacing. Dried fruity and dark caramel malt aroma. Medium body. Flavour starts out slight malty revealing a nice floral and grapefruit set of hops note before going into a solid caramel and roasted malt dominated flavour with minor smoke and chocolate note. Very nice. Malty and bitter finish with a minor liqourice note.

Cask at the brewpub. Pours a dark mahogany with an initial nice off-white head that quickly dissolves. Aroma is sweet caramel, but with a toffee feel and a touch of flowery and citric hops. Flavour is nice - sweet, caramel, quite dry and with a nice ’pang’ of American hops at the end.

UPDATED: FEB 1, 2006 Draught @ the brewpub: Dark burgundy coloured. Huge light brown dense head. They really know the looks here. Sweet, hoppy and light spiced aroma. Herbal and flowery notes. Flaovur is flowery, herbal and has liqourice notes. Caramel and roast is present in the beginning, but is overtaken by a sharp bitterness. Is very dry. Ends on a dominant bitter note, but with some light fruity undertones. Nice one.

A slightly hazy deep red beer with a small ligth brown head. The aroma is sweet fruity - with some esters present, but also quite hoppy. The flavor is sweet and very fruity with a good hop presence, both to begin with and in the end, which makes it quite refreshing. In the middle the caramel and nuts makes their presence known. The end is bitter and very crisp, and when the bitterness fades notes of nuts comes back. Nice.

Draught. Clear deep brown. Sweet quite hoppy fruitish aroma with toasted malt. The flavour is sweet and soft with toasted malt, lots of fruity hops and with a nice bitter finish. Reminds me of a toasty IPA.

Fad> Helt klart aftenens bedste oel. Rigtig god brown ale med en frisk citrus duft og let roegede noter til at bakke karamelsmagen op. Fin oel.

(On tap) Very beautiful clear mahogany with a warm, reddish glow. Handsome, creamy, beige head with excellent retention, finally settling cappuchinoish on top of the beer while leaving a neat lacework. Spicy, hoppy nose. Medium body with marked notes of hard roasted malt leaving a slightly burned edge. Lightly hoppy finish. A very delicate and refined Brown Ale - American style. 250206
