Clear dark dark brown allmost black color with a average to large, frothy - creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, burnt, coffee dusty, coffee acidic notes, moderate hoppy, grass. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, dry and both hop and malt bitter. Body is medium to light, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20090321]

Draft. A cheastnut-brown beer with a nice but collapsing tan head. The aroma is sweet with notes of brown sugar, bread, malt, and caramel. The is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, brown sugar, bread, and spices - is it some American hops, Amarillo? Nice.

From tap at the brewpub. Pours pitch black and with an almost fully gone tan head. Aroma is liqourice,hardroasted malt and solid hoppy. Flavour has the same with a medium body. Liqourice and dense hoppy flavoured going into a light acidic and bitter hoppy finish.

On tap. Pours a pretty clear deep reddish brown with a dense and stable beige head leaving some laces. Burned coffeeish nose. Medium body, hard roasted malts, a little vanilla and coffee with a discreet underlying sweetness. Finishes with a light malt bitterness. Wauw, Brewpub has really performed well lately. 270309

raught at the brewpub. Clear dark brown coloured with a small off white head. Roasted aroma of hat, liquorive and dark chocolate. Roasted flavour of liquorice, hay and dark chocolate. Roasted finish of liquorice. Nice schwarzbier.

Draft @ the brewpub. Pours a very dark brown almost black color with a small longlasting tan head. Has a roasted malty coffee aroma with some hints of caramel. Roasted malty coffee and chocoalte flavor. Has a slightly sweetish roasted malty finish with hints of coffee in the aftertaste.

Dark brown color. Mild, nice, roasted malt aroma, a bit dusty. Chocolate and roasted malt flavor, dryish, with the mouthfeel thinning at the end. Simplistic.

Draught at Brewpub. Almost black - offwhite head. Bunred, coffee, chocolate, licorice, high malty, light sweetness, lovely burned, bitterness, light hoppy. Fullbodied. Very nice.

Draught. Deep dark brown almost black colour with a short beige ehad. Roasted malt in the aroma along with chocolate, bit of smoke and liquorice. Good but bit thin mouthfeel. The flavour has a good roasted maltiness with liquorice, some smoke, light bitterness and a a bit of chocolate towards the end. Roasty bitter finish. Pretty good.

Pours a great, redish black with a great, creamy, greyish head. Aroma has lots and lots of dark chocolate, some slight smoke and coffee. Low carbonation, light and satisfying mouthfeel. Flavour is nicely dry, a bit ashy, perhaps. Lots of chocolate and subdued smoke. Elegant, well thought through and high class for the style.
