COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

On tap. Pours a clear warm amber with a creamy yellowish head. Sweetish caramellish aroma combined with flowery hops. Very rich and full body, carbonation is a little low. Plenty of caramel, nuts, maple syrup with the usual Brewpub smokiness underneath. This time however it’s drowned in the sugars and the booze. Warming alcohol in the finish. Not bad - in spite of the smoke. 170312

(on tap @ BrewPub) Pours a clear amber with little white head and a little lace. Aroma is a powerful, malty-hoppy mesh with detectable hints of citrus, sweet grapefruit and what seems like tar. Taste is mostly sweet with a little, fruity bitterness towards the end. Oily on the palate, softly carbonated and very full-bodied with a sweet finish. Quite filling but more interesting than the few barley wines I’ve tasted so far.

From cask at the brewpub. Pours clear and golden deep orange to amber with a small off white head. Aroma is solid pine and grapefruity hoppy. Thick hoppy, sweet caramelish, rather fruity and light smoked touch. Bitter and quite sweet and alcohol mellow into the finish. Smooth and lingering fruity finish.
