Brewpub Københavns answer to a bavarian wheatbeer is an unfiltered Hefeweissen, which due to high content of proteins in the wheatmalt appears very unclear in the glass. VesterWeisse has distinct notes of cloves and banana, has a dense head and is a refreshing thirstquencher on a warm summerday in the courtyard. This is a good beer for lunch or lighter dinner.

Draught @ Brewpub København. Murky pale yellow color, small white head. Smell and taste wheat, lightly banana, lightly sweet, quite dry finish. Average body and carbonation. Decent enough.

Draught at the brewpub. Hazy golden colour with a nice creamy head. Aroma and taste of yeast and citrus. Medium palate. Under the usual brewpub standard.

Tap. Pours a very muddy brown yellow - not terribly appatizing. Aroma is sweet and fruity, primarily banana and some apricat - a touch of berries. Slightly watery palate. Flavour has quite a lot of fruity notes - sweet as well - no apparent hops.

Draught @ brewpub. Head was small, fizzy and white what was quickly goon. Body was slightly cloudy with a golden yellow colour. Aroma was flowers, citrus, sweat, banana, coriander. In mouth slight bubble gum can be detected. Medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Light sweet flavour. Ok ordinary Hefe.

Draught at brewpub. Slightly hazy golden, tiny disappearing white head. Nose has wheat, cellar, little sourness and rubber, even solvent. Flavor is herbal alcohol, rubber, slick wheat, hints of bubblegum, pretty low on fruitiness. Medium bodied, slick foaming palate. Not too good, I’d need some banana in weiss.

Beer with clear notes of clove and banana. Lovely mellow flavor and long aftertaste of citrus and orange peel. It was enjoyed at Brewpub for a starter with hops smoked salmon with smoked cheese cream, and I can hardly point to a type of beer that could be better than this. Unfortunately, the carbonated is a little low, and there are many better Bavarian hefeweis.

On tap at the Brewpub. Hazy, bright yellow appearance. Too cold to pick up much aroma, but there’s distinct estery banana. Plenty of banana on the palate too, with a fair amount of sharp citrus. But it all feels a bit thin and lacking in presence.
