3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Gold with white head. Not sure what had happened here, you would have thought that all the Festival beers had been used by now. This was ok though, quite fruity, pineapple and melon in character with a hoppy dryness. I quite enjoyed it.

Festival beer, one-third pint at JDWs Willow Walk. Tiny white head, spotty lacing, close to clear amber-gold body. Dry fruity hops to the nose. Wheat, lemon and grapefruits in flavour. Firm bittersweet tail. Decent beverage (London, 02.11.2012).

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cask at JDW. Golden colour with a lasting white head. Good use of US hops evident on the nose with lots of grapefruit and tropical notes. Fruity, well-balanced taste with some nice pithy bitterness in the finish. Really drinkable and refreshing. Impressive stuff for sure.

Cask handpull, The Felix, Nuneaton, 13/11/12. Pre-match feed with Octo. Piled, fine lacing straw. Enticingly catty, stewed, hairy chlorophyll and lemon-zested aroma: 8. Juicy, hop-forward goodness; levels of tropical fruit, zest and flowers layered over thick biscuit. Bitter soapy linger. Bizarre this is listed as a premium bitter/ESB- to me its’s the very definition and embodiment of an (English) Golden Ale and why that style is my favourite on Earth. Clean, ringing, softly humming with hop. Juicy biscuit base. Excellent, and pick of the ELEVEN new festival beers that are on in Nuneaton’s 2 Spoons now that the festival is over. Infuriating. And kid-in-a-sweetshop time at once....
