Aroma is scents of malts, caramel, alcohol, fruits. The taste is over the top malts with sweet finish and alcohol kick. A rich brown amber colour with a full head. Strong alcohol finish. Overall, an incredible beer.

Enjoyed on tap at the brewpub downtown. Cloudy grapefruit with an off- white head, and lace. Funky aroma. A smooth, creamy mouthfeel that is above average. A hoppy beer, with the English malt and barley in the secondary. A lot of ideas, and none of them conlficting with each other.

Better than the highly overpriced Mill St. Barley Wine.
This brew is brownish mahogany with a thin off-white film. The aroma is quite nice albeit too mild but I really don’t mind that one bit. It has a good malt content with some caramel sticking out the most, alcohol that weakens later on, raisin, lots of hops (fruity and piny). The malt taste is bready and caramel, comes across sweet, strong alcohol and pine hops. Very fruity with an odd mix of malts and hops. Smooth mouthfeel with a alcohol / weak pine aftertaste and you are always left with deep breaths of alcohol. I like this stuff as it is not too harsh and allows it to be drinkable at a pace faster than you might have wanted. When this is on tap, it’s all I order.

Bottle shared with blankboy, HogTownHarry & garthicus - blankboy’s bottle. Mahogany colour with a medium beige head. Aroma is warm and sweet, with notes of caramel and orange peel. Flavour is very nice - sweet orange, caramel, mild herbal hops, and just a hint of warming alcohol. A very solid and drinkable barley wine, impressive!

Deep amber coloured body with a nice tan head. Malty aroma with caramel and grapes - sweet and strong at the same time. Medium-bodied; Sweetness from pit fruits and caramel with no bitterness. Aftertaste warming and fresh - very nice! Overall, a nice barleywine - not usually seen at brewpubs! Great to try and the best of the batch at Brewster’s! I sampled this beer served on draught at the Brewpub in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada (Northwest City Centre location) on 28-December-2008.

A cool bottle thanks to Presario. Pours a cloudy red/brown color with a small white head. The aroma is very sweet, some caramel, sweet fruits, malts, and a bit of alcohol. The flavor is also sweet, but not as sweet as some English BWs, some dark fruit, hops, and a lot of caramel. The malts and some alcohol warmth stand out too. Not bad at all. Sugary, but not too sweet. Nice.

My bottle (500ml) shared with GregClow, HogTownHarry & garthicus -- courtesy of presario. Pours a clear orange-amber with a small diminishing off-white head. Aroma’s sweet, malty and fruity with just a hint of alcohol. Fruity flavour along with caramel malt, some hops and again, just a touch of alcohol. Decent bitter finish. Pretty good, and quite drinkable, I could easily drink a lot of this.
