Sample tried at Brewsters 10th Ave. in Calgary, AB on 08/22/2012. Colour: Light brown, no head. Nose: Lightly malty with some medium hops that display grapefruit and pine. Taste: Medium sweet, medium-light bitter, light sour. Dry hops on entrance then a wave of sweet vanilla. Heavy hop dryness late and a lingering corn in the finish. Really loved the dryness here.

Pint on tap at the Oliver Square location in Edmonton pours a pale amber color with a small white head that leaves very little lacing. Aroma is light caramel and mild floral hops. Taste is light caramel malt sweetness with a moderate citrusy hop bitterness. Overall, a decent brew, but lacks the intensity of the Cascadian ales that I have tried.

Tap at West End locationin Edm. Looks like your standard beer - perhaps a touch deeper amber. Caramel malts and a bit of hops on the nose. Fairly light but present hop flavour with a pretty solid malt backbone. Medium body and quite smooth - hit the spot after a game of footy!

Beer appears to be in liquid form which is a good start. Deep copper colour with a sticky off white cap. Sniffles of rich, sweet caramel with indeterminable fruitiness on the light side - the usual. The taste is a bit watery but that’s ok.k the power just went out - I sure hope this doesn’t affect the beer quality ....... Ok hop power which is nice, plenty of caramelly stuff, faint orange and I’m not sure if it’s pine or pepper. I’d love to see gem get bold one of these days. Things like this should be a mainstay on the menu.

Tap at Oliver Square. Amber pour with thin white foam. Nose is caramelly. Taste has a grainy base with caramel sweetness, light lemony hops. Very mild bitterness, lemony hops linger. Medium body, light and smooth. Easy drinker, similar to Flying Frog.
