Vertical Bacon Strips (1698) - Asshat, - APR 19, 2011
Poured out a solid amber colour clear as clear can be and a long lasting bright off white cap with excellent silty lacing. Nice IPA aromas of ruby red grapefruit and candy oranges, caramel and now smells only like my pizza. Light pine and overall nice and fruity sweet. Nothing thick or in your face. This is a straight forward and simple IPA. Grapefruit, orange, pine, caramel, candy, soft citrus fruit followed by the pine. Medium length caramelly bitter finish. Some thickness now that I’m getting to the bottom of the glass. Pretty good beer worthy of multiple pints and Asian hookers.

Powertrip (841) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - FEB 24, 2012
Single bottle purchased from Brewsters Brew Pub on 11th ave SW in Calgary on 02/24/2012. Colour: Mix of gold and orange, with low white lacing. Nose: The hops explode on the nose and they are wrapped in a delicious candied package of some sort. There are flutterings of pineapple about. Simple nose but so well balanced and outstanding. Taste: Medium-light sweet, medium-heavy bitter, light sour. Again hops jump to the forefront and are accompanied by a spot of soap and flower. The bitterness runs long and solid through the middle and into the finish. Great stuff!

gramity (601) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 19, 2011
On tap @ Oliver Square. Fairly light color for an IPA. Aroma is hoppy and evidently Cascade. Taste is an average base with a fairly one dimensional hop flavor and bitterness. This sounds bad but it isn’t. Just the Cascade character makes this a solid IPA.

DuffMan (4422) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - OCT 29, 2011
On tap @ Lake Bonavista location. Bright light copper, delicately lacy head. Aroma and flavour is toasty with ripe papaya hop character, solidly bitter finish.

Pint on tap at Oliver Square location in Edmonton. Was cloudy golden color with small white head and thin lacing. Aroma was citrus and cereal. Taste was malt that was nicely balanced with bitter hops. Overall, a decent IPA which could have been better with a bolder body.

A fairly average IPA, but a good offering from Brewsters. The pour is a bright golden orange with a good two fingers of off white head. The aroma is hopped fairly well with a mild bready malt. The middle is light a slightly sweet and followed by a moderate hop and grapefruit finish. Nothing too excited or complicated here, but a nice session IPA.

Sampled on tap twice this week. Copper, no head in Bonavista and a nice head at 11th Ave. Enticing hop aroma. Nice bitter hoppiness and woody flavour. Lite malt gives all the attention to the hops. Good citrus notes as well.

Pint @ Brewsters Meadowlark. Golden brown pour with a creamy white head that bubbles away quickly. Hops, hops, hops, very fragrant with mild citrus (pink grapefruit, lemon) in the aroma. The presence of cascade hops leads this to feel more like an APA, but then again Keith’s is still paraded around as an IPA in some circles I travel in. Shame, I know. Mouthfeel is creamy, medium carbonation, and bitter hops on the finish - but not overpowering, very balanced with a light fruity sweetness. Delicious. Pairs well with all kinds of treats on the menu, like the ginger beef salad, the deep fried cheese balls, or the short rib poutine. Props to Cirrhosis for the comment on the pulled pork poutine. I miss that shit.

Body appears to be clear copper with a thin white cap, stupid amounts of roapy lacing a left behind. Aroma is toasted malts with hints of caramel, citrusy hop that lean to more of a pine resin, nothing fancy, just nice, maybe a touch light. Taste is bready hints of wood, more pine, slight caramel, nameless bitter hop finish, mild hints of fuzzy peach. Very clean no lingering flavor, fairly smooth going down. Probably could drink gallons of this stuff. The combination of pulled pork and poutine is the greatest food invention since the Donair.
