Oooooooooooooooo!
Gots me a glass of this stuff and it’s a deep copper colour with a light tan head and some messy, spotty lacing. A bit fruity, kind of orangey but not really, toasted things, dark caramel, etc. The taste is ok with a bit of a minerally bitterness to start off with, apple skin, burnt caramel and a hint of molasses stiffness, the sweetness is very faint when cold and this comes out as all malt and that’s cool for once. Interesting bite and I keep thinking about metal. Finished with an odd roasted nut and an interesting harshness from the hops. Ant place the fruit that is coming through now. Decent beer, drying but not quite that quenching.

On tap @ Oliver Square. Poured a dark copper or light brown depending how you want to look at it. The aroma was grainy with hints of some roasted malts. The taste was sweet from the malts with a bit of spice and coffee. Somewhat bitter finish.

Pint on tap at Oliver Square location in Edmonton. Poured a nice copper color with small head when brought to the table and some thin lacing. Aromas of grain. Taste is some malty sweetness followed by a mild lingering hop finish.

First taste on tap at Brewsters Edmonton in March. Second taste out of a keg at Poperinge’s. Not actually available till May. Light coffee aroma. Dark copper. BIG lasting head. Clumpy lacing. Dry peppery beer with a long roasted coffee finish. Hop dryness. Went down great with the start of the NHL playoffs.
