2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
15.9% at brewsters? This must be some cruel joke! 6oz pour. Beautiful dark burnt orange colour. Sweet but in a good way, orange honey stuff, caramel, raw sugar, waaaay better than I assumed. The taste is pretty good and some how not sickly sweet - oh itís sweet but not that bad. Honey, sweet plum, hints of alc here and there, caramel, toffee chew, cloying. I dig. Itís easy to drink quickly which was no surprise. I donít even think it matters what the temperature is. Style wise it doesnít stack up at all but itís a pretty good drink - donít let the 2.8 deter you.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Small sample on tap. I hope they save some for the next apocalypse as this needs to dry out a bit. Still tasty sweet boozy malty sipper.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear golden copper pour with a few traces of bubbles for a head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, ripe fruits and malts. Taste of malts, toffee, honey, caramel, you guessed it very sweet! Slight hint of dried fruits in the background. A little cloying but I love BIG beers so I enjoyed this one. Very low hop bitterness on the finish as well. Good beer.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a clear copper colour with a small off white ring around the glass with little lace. Aromas of alcohol, sweet, light caramel, not as malty as Iíd like. Flavour is very sweet malt, light caramel, and a warming booze finish though i must say for such a high abv its decently smooth. Overall not as intense complex malt as I would like and this is under a belgian strong ale though Gunther says itís a barley wine.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Glass on tap at the Oliver Square location in Edmonton pours a golden color with a small white head that leaves a few specks of lacing behind. Aroma is light caramel and grains with alcohol. Taste is a strong malty sweetness with hints of caramel and a generous alcohol burn in the finish. A very strong, but simple brew served in 6oz portion size, which is certain to get one inebriated in a hurry, but is not overly satisfying for the palate. Needs more complexity to earn a higher score.
