3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 presario (4133) - Stampede City, - SEP 4, 2011
A trip to Brewsters: Small Fruit Hog. Very big Curly Horse. This one was served without fruit! Too bad because the last blackberry seasonal had berries plump with beer. This one had a nice tartness and fruit flavour. Yellow beer. Without the fruit looks like the rest of the Hogs but the nose knows!
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 gramity (601) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 20, 2012
Pint on tap at the brewpub in Oliver Square. Looks like a lager (I actually wasn’t sure I got what I ordered) and served with no fruit. As soon as I smelt it the aroma confirmed I got what I ordered. Nose is full of sweet berry. After the second mouthful the taste is too sweet for me. Beyond the dominant sweetness, there is a decent malt backbone and a touch of hop bitterness. I am usually not big on fruit with beer; however, in the Fruit Hog case something seems missing when they don’t add anything...
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 reebtogi (2161) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - FEB 12, 2012
Pint on tap at the brewpub in Oliver Square pours a pale golden color with a small white head and no lacing. Aroma is light fruit and hops. Taste is light malty sweetness with mild hop bitterness and the blackberry fruits. There were blackberries in the glass and they were plump and juicy adding to the experience. Well done.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 pintbypint (1610) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - SEP 4, 2011
Pint at Oliver Square. Golden, hazy, small ring of white head. Aroma has some cotton candy sweetness and blackberry fruit notes. Flavor has a wheat base, dryish, light fruit sugars, berries. Finishes with a lot of wheat malt, lingering berries. Medium carbonation , average body.
