Cask (handpulled) at Fellows Morton and Clayton, Nottingham on Deep Black’s stag pub crawl. Ever since FMC stopped stocking Mallard beers I’ve been elsewhere, so it was good to revisit and taste a decent, clean cut bitter. Not spectacular but a solid enough starter.

Cask handpull, The Rake, Southwark, 04/04/12. Copper with a frilling off white foam. Herbal, dandelion-like aroma leading to a similar but lemony hop flavour rounded with digestives. Bitter finish with creamy afters. Good.

Cask handpump. Dark copper and slightly cloudy. Short foam head. Slight citrus scent but not much in the nose. Sweet start then very bitter. Quite thin. Roasted nuts in the mouth but generally not much in the mouth either. Boring.

Cask@GBBF 2009. Amber color, small steady off-white head. Aroma has wood, lime, some sweet fruity notes. Nutty hoppy flavor with some lemony-fruity bitterness. Aftertaste has decent bitterness. Decent body for 3.8% beer, but otherwise a bit boring.
