4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Cask conditioned handpump Criterion Leicester. A light golden beer with a white head and good lacing. Good sharp citrus hops throughout. Very tasty with skilfully balanced citrussy fruitiness. Nouveau hopping. Just so easy to drink yet wonderfully moreish.

UPDATED: JUL 19, 2011 Below is my rating from the 1st batch, the brewer told me they had sorted out the conditioning so I gave it another go. Conditioning is much better (in the fact that there is some), but now its too fizzy. The beer looks pretty when poured out with a persisitant white head but that lovely resisinous nose has dissapeared into a very muted lemon. Its a pretty good pale ale but still not quite where I think they would want it, & the fizz seems to have muted the flavours a bit as well as the nose.
Pours out hazy gold with barley a head from a 330ml bottle. Nose is a whopper, nice & aggressive, lots of resin & spice & a nice touch of sweet fruit. The flavour is pretty good but that’s as far as I’m prepared to go, there’s some nice resinous character, some nice sweet citrus fruit, bit of biscuit, bit of dryness on the finish, but here’s the rub, it really has not been bottled very well. Conditioning isn’t great & the body is surpisingly thin considering the abv. I would be interested to see how this comes out on draught, not a bad beer I just wish we could bottle in this country
