Clear straw appearance. Very little aroma to speak of at all. Dry taste. Dry hops that fade too quickly. Lemon slice improves the taste greatly but it doesn’t have enough to stand on it’s own.

This was one of the worst wheat ales I’ve had. Really weak and watery. I wouldn’t have this again.

Pint on tap at Brewsters Oliver Square location. Pours a clear golden color with small white head and little lacing. Aromas of wheat and floral hops. Taste is light sweet malt and wheat with a light hoppy bitterness in the finish. Not as good as Gunther’s or Farmer’s Tan, but is a decent beer.

Poured light honey colour and just a touch cloudy. Certainly some traces of wheat, sugar and lavender on the nose but in all its a bit muted. Mouth entrance of cream soda. Wheat germ and liquorice follow suit and the finish is dominant oat grains. Light and cheerful but missing an edge.

I was pretty dissapointed by this beer. Pour of straw with a light with head. No aroma is discernable at all. TAste is a little wheat with a bit of hops. Boring palate and lacking overall in taste.

***re-review May 9th, 2009*** I forgot that I had reviewed this and I came up with almost the same numbers and attributes. Good to see that the recipe has not been altered.***
Another beer served at Brewsters without any decent cap...maybe they need bigger glasses, someone who actually knows how to pour a beer, or better beer. Take your pick. Light gold brew with a bit of haze to it, a fine, bright white cap that never gets worse than a film and ring with some patchy lacing. Did I forget the dual lemon wedges stabbed on the rim? It took awhile to rid the beer of the fresh lemon scent....actually, I just ordered a second pint and slammed the first one. Still some lemon on the brain...very nice smelling wheat - very nice indeed - pisser there is not more as it’s to faint. Faint banana and maybe vanilla. The aroma came out after awhile and that is a good thing. Not comparable to a good German wheat but still worthwhile. Taste is tangy, fresh, zingy and wet....haha...it’s true though. Too bitter I think but it’s short lived, fairly wheaty, a bit of spice. Still fairly plain overall, as are the rest of the beers on the menu. Mouthfeel is spritzy and creamy but the over the top tangyness is a deterrent. This beer could tone down the hops. Large wheat aftertaste.

Draught at the brewpub, Oliver Square location
Clean, pale blond color, unfortunately served with a slice of lemon; I should check my notes and count how many wheat ales I got with a lemon in Canada... A Lager-like with a shade of wheat, watery.

[797-20071102] Tap @ Brewsters (Calgary, AB). Floral yeast aroma has a bit of sweet nail polish. Clear, orange light brown body with a quick creamy white head. Bready yeast flavour. Medium body. Florality diminishes interest for me.

Draft at the brewpub. Golden yellow, small white head. Sweet buttery aroma, light floral notes. Similar buttery hints in the flavours, not sure if its diacetyl or just hoppy characteristics. Pleasant bitterness, grassy wheat notes. Average palate is more full than I would have thought for an American Wheat. Not a barley wine despite the bartenders miscommunication. :) 5-6/3/6/3/11
