Beershine (4712) - The Sunshine State, USA - FEB 2, 2009
Hazy luminescent dark orange with thick creamy white head lots of thick even lacing coats the glass. Fruity aroma with spent grain background, earthy yeasts, and some floral essence. Smells fresh and alive. Smooth, low carbonation. Tastes strong even though the alcohol is well-hidden. Very much like a double IPA, a hoppy, floral, fruity, and balanced barley wine with no annoying cloying qualities.

Tap at Brewtopia Brewfest. Copper color. Floral hops in the nose. Sticky texture. I like it. Bold and malty. Very nice hop. 23 Nov 08.

Looks great. Hazy light amber with a thick head. It looks like an APA but who’s keeping score? Fruity, slighlty herbal hop with alchol and a good dose of malt. The aroma is less hoppy than it was at Brewtopia. Rich and chewy with lots of bitterness. Balanced. A little light for the style. Smooth body and a firm finishing kick.

Draft... West Palm Beach location... (Long lost rating here)... Clear amber ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Decent retention. Lots of caramel and maybe a touch of maple syrup in the aroma. Full-bodied with a syrupy mouthfeel and modest carbonation. Gobs of caramel and fig in the flavor. Moderate bitterness. Lengthy, bittersweet (more bitter than sweet) finish.

Poured a medium amber color with a smallish off white head. Smelled of sweet caramel malts, some dark fruit in there too, along with some syrupiness. The taste was much the same, the caramel malt seemed to be the dominant flavor. Pretty nice palate to it. The alcohol was pretty evident to me the whole way through and hgave it a decent bite to it in the finish. Medium bitter aftertaste. Not a bad barleywine at all.
