COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It seams as though at one time years ago this beer was a stout. It has since been renamed Black Duke Dark and styled to be a dunkel. This is our Dunkel or Munich Dark. A rich deep, amber brown lager. Medium bodied, soft to the palate, with just the slightest suggestion of chocolate and roasted coffee. Try something new after dinner, try something cool...Try the Duke! Malty and delicious from start to finish. (Old description: A dry oatmeal stout with a distinct roasted coffee flavor, a hint of chocolate flavor and a very delicate hop character. A special tap has been used to give this stout a creamy, smooth texture. ABV 4%)

Draft 2/9/11 (PBI Location)-Pours a light black with a tan head. Aroma of roasted malt and chocolate. Taste of the same. This medium bodied brew is a nice dark ale.

Not bad for a 4 percent lager. These guys excell at low gravity beers. Thin head but last. Sweet nutty balance good beer ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On draft at brewery, rich and toasty. For how thin it is, ok but safe.

Part of 6oz. sampler flight. Dark brown pour, fairly thin however. Modest head that disappeared quickly. A caramel, roasted malts aroma. Taste was creamy, roasted coffee and malts, toffee, caramel and very light hops. Finished a little dry. Not bad. Medium body.

UPDATED: MAY 22, 2014 On tap at Brewzzis’. Dark brown/black pour with a tan head. Toffee and dark malt aromas. Very creamy, more like a foreign stout than a dunkel. Rich dark malt aromas with mild caramel and toffee notes. Somewhat sweet and very creamy.

A good beer. Not much of a stout or porter though, with very few chocolate and roasted notes. Enjoyable and clean if it were a brown. Light bodied. Slightly roasty aroma.

On draft at Brewzzi. To call this a stout is a definite misnomer; it is a schwarzbier if I have ever had one. Pours a cocoa-brown-amber with a white head. Nose is cocoa, slight roasted malts, earth, and some caramel. Flavor is similar with prevalent earthy cocoa throughout. Medium in body with lingering earthy cocoa in the finish.

On draft at Brewzzi, poured an amber brown color with caramel and roasted malt aromas. Flavors are the same as aromas, with a touch of chocolate.
