Grapefruit juice, citrus brewed with their amber. And sweetness from? And pop carbonation? Very refreshing

Originally rated September 2005. Guess I poured this brew down too fast. Gave me a big fat white head that is creamy and heavy thick in lacing. Pretty good retention. Killed the carbonation though that I found in the bottles. Colour is a cloudy golden with amber highlights. Very nice citrus scent, specially grapefruit, and once the brew breathes... malt is detected mildly. The taste is fruity on the citrus side as well, with grapefruit in the forefront and a touch of honey. Really not too sweet, but just right. Extremely refreshing and very low in alcohol.... I could drink many of these, like I did tonight after buying this six pack at the LCBO.

Only reason I’m evening entering this is the 50% beer part. This couldy yellow beverage looks like juice. Aroma is dominated by grapefruit. Flavour is sweetly fruity and brings to mind a soda pop. It was actually quite pleasant, but no matter what anyone says, it is definitely on the edge of what qualifies as a beer, even a fruit beer.

I’m having a hard time rating this beverage. Taken as a beer, I would probably have to rate it quite low, as it simply isn’t very beer-like. But taken as a fruit-flavoured alcoholic beverage, it’s actually somewhat enjoyable. It pours a very hazy, light gold colour, and has a strong grapefruit juice aroma. The body is crisp and highly carbonated. The flavour is like Ting (a Caribbean grapefruit soda) mixed about 75/25 with a very light lager. It wasn’t as sweet as a feared it might be, and I found it quite tasty all in all. But again, taken strictly as a beer, most would probably consider it a failure.

Grapefruit aroma, clean and true like. Cloudy, citrus with white head. Medium body, plenty of refreshing grapefruit flavours. Interesting. I had fun with this one, but let’s make it more ale and less fruit next time.

Grapefruit aroma, hazy yellow, pours a big ,short lived white head, leaves some lace too. Taste is grapefruit (I’ve had worse apricot wheat beers) Very sweet, but oddly enjoyable, I wouldn’t say refreshing though. Not too bad, better than expected.

341ml clear bottle. Poured cloudy gold. Large foamy white head which settles to a small layer. Fruit/sweet aromas, mainly grapefruit, possibly papaya. Flavours consist of grapefruit, lemonade, rather like "Five Alive" meets weak beer.

I had it as a friend got it for his wife to try (she hates beer) and she said it still tasted like beer... It may as well be fermented orangina. Perhaps after a day of back breaking labour out in the back yard but only if you are too lazy to make yourself a radler (sorry.. shandy). Suffice it to say that I’m glad I didn’t pay for it.. It has its place as a beer cocktail but to call it a fruit beer is a bit more of a stretch then I would really be willing to make..

Singles bin at LCBO- Cloudy yellow pour with a big fizzy white head. Minute lace. Fruity, mostly grapefruit and other citrus aromas, with some bread. Taste is sweet citrus, again, mostly grapefruit with sugar on it. Slightly cloying, but better than expected.
