On tap at BrickHouse. Pours a dirty amber/brown with a small tan head. Aroma of spruce, pine, and citrus with lots of spices. Flavor is pretty much the same as the aroma with a nice spruce/citrus blend and slight bitterness in the finish. One of the better winter ales I’ve had. Quite enjoyable. 8/4/7/4/14 (3.7/5)

Tap at BrickHouse. Aroma herbal and spicy with a bunch of toasted malt. Flavor dry and woody, herbal, nice spice bitterness from either hops, spices, or both, nice either way. Pretty impressive.

Tap at the brewpub - this is a pretty nicely balanced ale for these folks - hazy reddish orange, with a thick foam on top - fairly creamy in the mouth - the flavor is sweetish up front, but this quickly makes way for some strong esters, followed closely by some spruce and a juniper-like bitterness, complimented well by some lightly peppery hops - the alcohol is quite well-hidden - a nice one from this brewer.

Thanks to Larry for sharing this growler. This made for a nice hangover reliever for breakfast. Pours a clear woody amber with low carbonation and a thin diminishing head. Aroma is light malty sweetness, harsh phenols, fruity high temp fusels and esters- with an alcoholy spiciness- some nutmeg and cinnamon almost. Light crackery sweet malts, thin caramel syrupy-like, floral and tea-like hops, and a slight fruity alcohol burn in the end. I didnt really like this that much, but somehow I didnt mind drinking it. My headache from my hangover went away after drinking a couple glasses so it gets a bonus point.

Growler. Poured a clear copper color with a medium sized off-white head. The aroma was a little toasty with mild notes of chocolate. The alcohol gives up a small amount of fumes. Some sweetness to the malt which give way to some earthiness of hops and then drys out with just a lot of bitterness. Alcohol pepper notes on the finish. Some warmth with a medium to full body. Don’t let it warm up to much. It gets real peppery.
