Copper with a light head. Light carbonation. Toasted malts, light hops and a husky malt aftertaste. Too toasted for any style, Irish Red or American Amber. Average on all counts.

Heavy notes of caramel, toffee an vanilla. Pours an clear heavily filtered amber red. Faint sourness from possible infection.

Served on tap at the Brickhouse. Malty, slightly sweet flavor with a medium bodied aftertaste.

beerbill (2938) - Laurel, New York, USA - JAN 2, 2010
On tap at the brewpub. Arrived at the table a clear red with a very thin linen white head that was gone after the first two sips and left partial lace. Light aroma of malt with some caramel sweetness. The flavor is mostly malt with a bit of caramel sweetness followed by some light-moderate hops bitterness. Some mild bitterness lingers on the roof of my mouth towards the back of my throat briefly after the swallow. No problems here.

I think this is #400? On tap at the brewpub. Aroma of sweet malt. Flavor of the same with some raspberry tartishness. Rather boring, but inoffensive.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a dark amber with a thick tan head. Aroma of sweet malt. Flavor of light sweet malt, slight hops. Blandish, but quite drinkable and so far my favorite BrickHouse beer.

This beer was alright. I don’t think that I wouldn ever drink it again, but it wasn’t that bad.

Chapel (445) - Levittown, New York, USA - JUL 31, 2007
UPDATED: FEB 4, 2008 I think it is the same beer after reading the descriptions. It was called Brick House Red Boys when it was on tap.

It has a smoky amber color with a mid sized white head than vanishes kinda fast. Very little in the way of aroma but kind of a black cherry/dull mint flavor. Something about it seemed off but I couldn’t put my finger on it.

Rerate: it was better this time. The minty cherry was a little more subdued and it just in general drank better. Still nothing to go out of your way for and there are better things there.

On their board in the brewpub they describe this as being "very malty". They are full of it. This is all hops, all the way. Just overusage of cascade hops. It ends up growing on you though and does finish as an ok beer that makes a bad first impression.

Had a pint at the brewery and if you are a malt lover this beer will show those notes on the nose and palate. It does drink smooth and does refresh quite well. You do see some hints of hops and spices.
