Nice toasted coffeeish mouthful with a little bit of toasted flavor. Has a hint of rich almost buttery nutty aftertaste. Qaulity brew.

Tap at BrickHouse. Aroma of earthy hops, nuts, coffee, solid quantity of roasted malt. Flavor the same, very rich brown ale, practically a porter in body but with the lovely brown aroma profile. Very nice.

I was surprised by this one - a lot of brick house beers really don’t sit well with me, but this had a nice creamy body, and a very smooth flavor of roasted nuts and caramel - a tiny bite of hops in the finish - a little buttery, but not in a diacetyl-like way - the metallic character that plagues many of this brewer’s beers was not present at all.

The man who this beer was named after, Paul Brown, was drinking at the Brick House when I had this one. It was pretty decent, it had a dark brown body, and wasn’t bad.

Dark brown pour with a thick head. The aroma showed caramel malts with a nice hint of hazelnuts on the mouthfeel. It drank very creamy.
3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Chapel (445) - Levittown, New York, USA - JUL 31, 2007
Dark brown with a thick creamy head that reveals the palate. I would be lying if I said that this beer had much in the way of a striking aroma, but this was not reflected in the taste what-so-ever. Highly roasted malty taste was dominant from start to finish but there was a hint of nuttiness also.

Tap at the brewpub. Dark brown beer, thick creamy off-white head. Pale malt, faint toast. Served too cold, but there is little in the way of complexity. Light maltiness, but fairly thin-bodied. Light toasted nuts in the finish, but very non-descript.

this was surprisingly good - I’m not a fan of the brickhouse but this beer was dark rich roasted malt flavor and very complex palete - enjoyed it fully
