2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 andrewthfcmuir (18) - Kitchener, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 5, 2013
Toasted malt aroma, medium sweet taste, very mild bitterness. Honestly not bad considering the artificial flavor, but I definitely wouldn’t classify it with the craft brews in the area.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Studentofbrrs (82) - Ontario, CANADA - DEC 26, 2012
UPDATED: DEC 29, 2012 Rich dark amber in color that has a thick frothy head that never completely diminishes. Has a light hoppy scent with a hint of spiced malt. Taste is a medium bitter hop with a light malty finish. Goes down very light for a dark beer. I can see how it has won many awards
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Hateball16 (83) - - DEC 5, 2012
Can from LCBO
Appearance: Very dark brown to black with ruby highlights. Creamy light tan head which doesn’t last long.
Aroma: Hints of blackcurrant or cherries, faint vanilla and coffee. Low to no hop aroma. Sweet bready malt aroma.
Flavour: Chocolate cake first, then fading to some fruitier flavours such as prunes, slight hop bitterness but balanced towards malt.
Mouthfeel: Quite smooth, no astringency, moderate to low carbonation. Leaves a slick feeling on the tongue. Finish not overly dry, slight warmth in the aftertaste with more dried dark fruits.
Overall: Not a great example of a Schwarzbier, as there wasn’t much complexity. Although it may suit better with the dunkel lager style. Not bad, and inexpensive, so good for the beer drinker on a tight budget who fancies something other than DAB!!

Very dark reddish brown with tan head with good retention and moderate lacing. Aroma of black cherry, toast, nuts and earth. Tastes of bread with a trace of toast and caramel. Thin and fizzy with a short dry slightly herbal finish. Overall, better than the big brands, but not by a lot.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 gramity (1055) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - NOV 22, 2012
Dark ruby colour, thin head. Aroma is thin, some roast and chocolate. Taste is also thin, almost like the roast flavours are artificial and were added after the fact.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 rob6239 (465) - Ontario, CANADA - AUG 31, 2012
I always considered this a "black lager". Everything about it- the aroma and taste is like a mid grade Canadian lager but it is clear and dark coloured.
