473 mL Can. Deep copper body with a small fizzy tan head. Aroma of grains and caramel with a hint of crystal malt. Flavors of sweet malt, crystal malt, and toasted malt with caramel in the aftertaste and a mild sweet finish. Refreshingly light for a dark.

500 ml can from LCBO. Pours dark brown/black with ruby tinge. Large milk chocolate coloured head, dissipates quickly, leaving no lacing. Finely carbonated. Sweet malty taste, faint chocolate and smoky aromas. Enjoy the style and is one of the best locals around.

Bottle. Pours a dark, reddish brown. Very carbonated looking, honestly could be confused for a Coke. Slight, sweet and tangy malt aroma. Thin, carbonated mouthfeel, though there’s a hit of sweet malt at the end. It’s not bad, but it’s not memorable and feels like it could be so much more.

16 oz. can - thanks to matt7215 for the trade; clear, dark brown with tan head to the edges; roasty, raw with slight smoke and chocolate aromas; very light and thin but with nice, dry maltiness; i don’t drink schwarzbiers that often, but i kind of dig the style; this one could use some more flavor though

16oz can bought in Toronto. Dark brown, slight red to orange tint. Tall beige head. Somewhat sweet dark malt aroma, lots of caramel, some chocolate, rather simple, but straightforward and not bad. Between a dunkel and Schwarz. Simple dark malt flavor, caramel, chocolate, sweet, but slightly bready and biscuity. Not all that exciting but pleasant to drink. Rather light in body. Nice enough but not very interesting.
