Commercial Description:
A dark beer can be a very scary thought to some people. Surprise, surprise. There's no other beer quite like Waterloo Dark, refreshingly light and delicate in taste but rich in colour. Don't be afraid of the dark. surprise yourself.

Pours a dark brown slightly carbonated beer. Large and frothy head which recedes and an aroma of caramel malts. A light and slightly delicate mouthfeel with a taste of caramel and nutty malts. Overall, a pretty average dark lager.

Bottle: Poured a clear above average brown color lager with a large foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of lightly sweet caramel malt. Taste is also dominated by lightly sweet malt note. Definitely too thin for the style with some average carbonation. Refreshing but a bit thin and lacing some flavour.

Bottled sample at some non descript place in toronto. Nothing memorable here. Probably would taste beetter with the right food.

Yet another 473 mL can from matt7215. You rock! A little bit of a gusher. Ruby brown pour with a a large, frothy, quickly receding head. But, to catch the gushing I had to pour pretty vigorously. Nice lacing. Head has a nice... SOUND... snap, crackle, pop! Slightly bitter roasted malt aroma. Roasted malt taste with hints of coffee and soap. A little watery.

Deep ruby color, head went away quickly. Some roasted malt in the aroma but it was faint. Lighter malt flavor. Light to medium bodied. Not bad but could use a bit more flavor/aroma.

Pours as you would expect, a dark red brown, but with no head. The aroma is a bit metallic, some grassy notes, and light notes of play-doh. The flavour is malty, a bit of toffee and a play-doh finish....weird flavour. Medium body. All and all, this beer has pretty weak game, but it’s not THAT bad.

Tasted 4/15/08. 341ml bottle. Filtered with a dark brown hue with orange highlights. Ring of white head. Aroams of honey and toffee. Nutty aroams. Light to medium bodied with light effervescence. Meh...

Six pack from the LCBO. Pours a dull brown, medium head. Flavour is a touch metallic, similar to a macrobrew with a touch more malt. Unimpressive.
