hotbeef (2), USA does not count Aug 11, 2005 I used to drink guinees until I found Waterloo Dark, now this is my preferred brew. Made in Waterloo Ontario Canada, and the stubby bottles are pretty cool too! jbrus (4835), Delft, Netherlands Aug 10, 2005 Bottled. Light toffee aroma. Brown color, small light brown head, few lace. Light sweet, toffee but actually quite neutral flavor, thin. rederic (1787), montréal, Quebec, Canada Aug 3, 2005 Dark brown, with reddish highlights, with a tan-colored shy head, caramel malt, roasted malt, mayde a chocolatey note in the nose, folows through on a medium-bodied palate, with a maltiness accent, chocolatey note, toffee, roastiness, grainy, leading to a sweet dark malt finish. GonZoBeeR (2156), ste-Eulalie, Quebec, Canada Jun 10, 2005 Aroma:light infection aroma....
Appearance:Dark brown,light brown head.......
Flavor:light caramel, light rosted malt and small infection... Mullo (102), Brisbane, Australia May 15, 2005 Justifiable name - very robust dark reddish colour. Quite light on the hopping. The roasted malt is very smooth and gives a thick flavour to the beer, yet doesn’t have much of a burnt flavour about it. Well blended, and very smooth. Quite sweet, and a slight dryness in the aftertaste, but unfortunately, not much aroma. Enjoyable to drink. iam (369), Mississauga, Ontario, Canada Apr 10, 2005 Pours a dark, almost opaque, black colour with a medium head. Aroma is light, with some caramel and molasses. Given the appearance I was expecting a much thicker and flavourfull beer but this turned out to be rather light in body and taste. The taste starts off sweet with some molasses presnet but finishes off somewhat dry. Not bad but.. JustinBathurst (134), Corner Brook, Newfoundland, Canada Mar 24, 2005 I spent a week in Kitchener-Waterloo and as a result got a crash-course in local brews. This one was usually available. I tried it first on tap, then in a bottle. On tap was better for sure, as the bottled dark tasted like sap.
Dark appearance, still somewhat watery on tap, faintly sweet, but with absolutely no life to recommend it after one glass. If I was offered it, I think I’d pass. Jan Primus (160), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada Mar 9, 2005 Very mild sweet aroma, colour of cola and lack of head. Taste is mild all the way through...mildly sweet, bitter and not much else I can point out cuz it’s so mild...watery mouthfeel was dissapointing, one of few forgettable dark beers.
