Only dark i knew were Coffee porter and Devil’s Pale Ale 666. So, for me dark beer would be 1-3 a yr tops type thing. I thought this one would be heavy and interesting but not a pick me up again drink. Boy,was I wrong. Veary dark, but it’s really refreashing and light bodied(get cold ppl)Some sip’s had that weird dark beer taste that i am not 2100% into trying to com into me,but just hint’s it. Some spi’s tasted kinda like sweet candy with hint of water spilled on to it. I actully enjoyed this beer! May buy again! markymark (79), Duluth, Minnesota, USA

Nice malty sweetness and little bitterness. Completely quaffable. pootzboy (1048), Hawgville, Ontario, Canada

The pour produced a decent dark cola colored lager with a rocky-sticky 2 finger cap that lasts well and laces the glass.
Aromas are subtle: some cocoa and sweet bready tones light musty earthy yones.
Medium bodied, fair malt spine, silken mouthfeel, and a more rounded toasy malt character than before.
Up front the toasted dark Munich malts depart some cocoa sweetness that is quickly balanced by light pearl hop presence..mid palate there is more substance in the body with some dried fruit and nut notes and some light souring ...finish is clean and lightly drying with lingering bready aftertastes.
This transition seems to have given Waterloo dark some dunkel characteristics as the hops have been slightly attenuated and the malts beefed up...a pleasant change. JadoreBlanche (114), London, Ontario, Canada

Aromas of coffee, molasses and nuts. Tastes of slight malt, and coffee. Very smooth and light beer. Easy to drink! One of my favorite dark beers, however not like any dark beers I have had. mabel (2626), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Dark malty aroma with some nutty characteristics. Dark brown body has red hues and a long-lasting creamy light tan head. Malty nut flavour has hints of dark chocolate. Lovely medium-full body, a little thinner than expected. Surprisingly springy and refreshing. OKBeer (1159), Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada
