Bottle at Jack Astor’s. This isn’t too bad. Smoke on the nose with a bit of chocolate. Taste is mildly of chocolate, roasted barley with the signature lager doughy taste. A fairly nice beer. I enjoyed this one.

Jul 23, 2008 Pours a dark brown slightly carbonated beer. Large and frothy head which recedes and an aroma of caramel malts. A light and slightly delicate mouthfeel with a taste of caramel and nutty malts. Overall, a pretty average dark lager.

Jul 22, 2008 Bottle: Poured a clear above average brown color lager with a large foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of lightly sweet caramel malt. Taste is also dominated by lightly sweet malt note. Definitely too thin for the style with some average carbonation. Refreshing but a bit thin and lacing some flavour.

Jun 28, 2008 Yet another 473 mL can from matt7215. You rock! A little bit of a gusher. Ruby brown pour with a a large, frothy, quickly receding head. But, to catch the gushing I had to pour pretty vigorously. Nice lacing. Head has a nice... SOUND... snap, crackle, pop! Slightly bitter roasted malt aroma. Roasted malt taste with hints of coffee and soap. A little watery.
