A golden IA with a thin light mocha head. In aroma, grainy malt with grassy hops, and light mineral notes. In mouth, a crisp malt with faint German like hops, lager like, boring.

Can at Calgary International Beer Fest. Pours lightly hazy orange with a medium, frothy white head, medium-short retention with good lacing. Aroma is citrus, pine, and spruce hops, light minty notes, biscuit and caramel malt, peach and pear esters. Flavor is medium to moderate hops and bitterness, supporting malt, fruity esters, and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

This beer was "Handmade by Brewmasters". As opposed to "Made by our janitors with their feet?" OK, enough snark. Beer pours a decent amber with a rocky head, no real lacing. Two minutes later and the head is completely gone. Aroma is extremely mild, no real hops there. Little bit chalky maybe? Taste is better than generic lager, but doesn’t taste like an IPA. Maybe compared to Keith’s this is an IPA, but otherwise not really. Taste dies quickly, little mouthfeel.

473 ml can from czar, thanks mate. Pours a foggy golden-orange with a nice white head. Smell is lightly citrus, cereals. Taste is somewhat fruity, dry cereals. Light bitterness in the finish, more herbal than floral. Fruit touch in the finish. Average body and carbonation. Good, but somewhat generic.

Poured from can from LCBO. Clear golden colour with nice sized fluffy head. Light aroma. Good malt flavour, but nothing interesting. Mild bitterness. Seemed typical for the brand. Nice pale ale, but nothing really memorable about it.

Second bad IPA i’ve had tonight. This one is better than the beer academy in that its drinkable, but worse in that they didn’t even attempt to do the style. As much of an IPA as alexander keiths. Only a little better of a lager at least

cab. Poured orange amber with a large off-white head. Bready malt nose with a light citrusy hint. Medium bodied, creamy mouthfeel with a mild tart finish. Caramel malt flavour with the expected grapefruit note. Finishes medium dry.

Medicine Hat Beerfest 2012. Deep golden colour, toasty sweet malty aroma and flavour. Pretty tame in the hop department, maybe some earthy orange, but you really do have to search for it. I had a friend try the Tamarack Hat Trick IPA followed by this, and he agreed that there is literally no comparison. This does not belong in the IPA category. It is, at best, an English-style pale ale. It isn’t offensive, other than lying about its identity (and Vanilla Ice can tell you, that just doesn’t hold up among your peers).
