jgb9348 (2492), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA Oct 19, 2009 Cloudy golden coloured body with a very thick, four centimetre tall white head with nice bubbles and a good mildly golden hue. Aroma of yeast, fresh wheat, hay, grass and a bit of cardboard. Light-bodied; Super watery taste with some funky mild malt, odd corn and grainy taste along with a fake sweetness. Aftertaste shows just about nothing with a good water taste in the middle (sarcasm). Overall, a very mild and non-flavourful beer throughout. I can’t complain too much, this wasn’t bad - it just - wasn’t a real beer. I sampled this 473 (odd size) mL can purchased from the LCBO in Toronto (Summerhill), Ontario on 11-October-2009, sampled at home in Washington (DC) on 19-October-2009. jimmay (179), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada Oct 13, 2009 473 ml can from LCBO. What a major disappointment, after the initial release. Tastes like coors light, but bright golden yello w in colour. Wow Brick is heading straight down hill with beers like this. So sad, because the original was dynomite! Papillon (172), Sudbury, Ontario, Canada Oct 13, 2009 473 mL Can. Hazy yellow with a small rocky white head leaving good lacing. Aroma mostly floral and banana-like, some graininess comes through. Flavor is a sweet fruit salad-like medley with an innuendo of cloves; a bit light for a wheat beer. Creamy aftertaste followed by a mild cream cheese finish. So this is the new "reformulated" version? What was the matter with the original? I would have liked to try that. decimator (41), Ontario, Canada Sep 30, 2009 473ml can poured into a Weizen glass. Poured a hazy yellow with a 1.5" head. Decent lacing. Flakes of grains and yeast were visible at the bottom of my glass by the end. Some fruity sweetness and some spiciness but overall the aroma is pretty mild. Taste is of mild sweetness upfront, hint of citrus and a very light spicy flavor. Not much bitterness. It’s not offensive but wheat beers can have much more flavor then this one. Good carbonation but a it’s little thin for a wheat beer. I found it quite drinkable. I could easily session on this beer. I found this to be a decent beer but it’s certainly lacking a bit of flavor for a wheat beer. Sammy (3934), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 26, 2009 Bland beer, not so drinkable unless you are very very thirsty. Pours a huge foaming head, that compresses over several minutes. Neutral but clean smell. Very little and inoffensive taste. Thinish mouthfeel. Boutip (2334), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Sep 17, 2009 Can: Poured a slightly hazy golden color ale with a nice pure white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of wheat malt with light banana ester and some cloves is quite good. Taste is a nice mix between some wheat malt with subtle banana ester with a dry finish with cloves notes. Body is quite full with good carbonation. Well done though a bit too dry at the end. probstk (1007), Nepean, Ontario, Canada Sep 17, 2009 473 ml can from LCBO, served cold in a tulip glass.
App.: Cloudy golden with a loose white froth.
Aroma: Creamy lemony aroma, fairly yeasty and a bit of wheat, some biscuit and toast,
Palate: Medium body and fairly full, creamy effervescence.
Flav.: Nice creamy lemon biscuit, yeast, wheat, grassy hay, slightly tart; dry with no bitterness and a lighter lemon-biscuit finish.
Quite surprising. I was expected a clear, emaciated brew. For a straight up “Wheat Ale”, this is quite nice. cfrancis (293), Gloucester, Ontario, Canada Sep 4, 2009 Kind of average. Pours a hazy gold straw yellow. Aroma is citrus with yeast. Taste crisp and clean with a citrus aftertaste. Small bite to the palate. A fine beer but not outstanding.
