3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Skyview (4880) - Papoose Jct, USA - MAY 17, 2009
Sampled via roving 64-oz growler during Dark Lord Day ’09. Pours a clear copper amber colored brew with a decent off-white head that slowly dissipates to a thin ring. Aroma of caramel malt, citrus zest, a hint of grapefruit and some light spice. Taste is medium bodied, a tad citrus bitter, with flavors of citrus some caramel malt and a touch of pine. Finish is semi-dry with a lingering citrus bitter aftertaste. Pretty decent APA.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 19/20 JoePeesie (750) - Long Lake, Illinois, USA - MAY 19, 2012
Growler from pub poured 5-13 opened 5-17. Pours a clean golden orange with a touch of head that laces nicely. Nose and taste are sweet, evenly hopped and malted. The biggest flavors I picked up were caramel and citrus fruit. I really enjoyed this beer, and could drink it all day. I brought the growler to my buddies to split, and almost wished I hadn’t so I could have drank the entire thing myself. Very well done, a visit to their establishment is on the to do list.
4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20 Labonix (19) - Illinois, USA - MAY 16, 2012
Pours a clear copper color. About a finger worth of head. The aroma is a nice balance of citrus and pine. The taste is malt followed by a strong presence of pine and a nice amount of citrus to finish it off. This pale feels a bit heavier than other pales. Overall its a solid brew.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Cornfield (5277) - Oak Forest, Illinois, USA - FEB 19, 2009
On tap at the brewpub: I can see why this is the brewmaster’s favorite. It’s a well balanced, tasty APA. It has a rich golden body with a full white head that laces well. The aroma has a sweet underlying maltiness, but is solidly covered by yellow grapefruit, tart tangerine, and zest scents. The flavor has a sweet pale malt with a splash of caramel evenly matched by the citrusy hop flavors and a moderate bitterness. It finished on a lengthy, mildly bitter note. Not too shabby.
