COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A classic West Coast IPA. We add 1 addition of Northern Brewer at 90 minutes, and then 3 additions of Cascade at 60 minutes, 30 minutes, and 5. It is a very drinkable IPA and will not kill you with hop, but gives just enough to keep the hopheads (and us) happy. Grain: 2 Row, Caramel 60, Wheat, CaraPils Hops: Northern Brewer, Cascade

on tap-pours a retaining light tan head with heavy lacing and hazy amber color. Aroma is resin/citrus-grapefruit. Taste is resin/citrus-orange/grapefruit/some pineapple hops with some bite, secondary medium malt. OK carbonation.

[Tap] Pours a light amber color with a little bit of a haze to it. Surprisingly pleasant aromas of grapefruit and caramel malts. The taste is of citrus, light pine, grain, toffee and some biscuit. A very controlled hop profile here. Better than expected palate. Actually for 3.2%, tasted pretty good.

On tap at Bricktown Brewery 2/15/10. Pours a hazy orange-yellow color. Moderate head with good retention and lacing. Aroma is caramel malt and grapefruit hops. Unfortunately, flavor is loaded with diacetyl. Very buttery. Yes, you notice the IPA hoppiness, but it’s overshadowed by the buttery sweetness and slickness. Oily mouthfeel. Will try again another time, hoping this was just an infected batch. But the one I had was disappointing.
